Amen! I did so many stupid things when I was 15 I could have easily died. My mother never, ever thought about sending me away so she doesn't have to deal with me. Nothing this child did at 15 could ever, EVER justify shipping her away like that. |
Sign the petition at least. Looks like she has a few people helping her already. I hope they can resolve this in time.

Everyone needs to MYOB. |
By your attitude we shouldn't feed the homeless or ever call child protective services. WRONG! |
She is a brat spoiled teenager. Her mother had all the right to send her away to stay with HER FATHER, he just happened to live in Siberia! If this girl thinks she is worthy of an American Citizenship, she can apply for it like every other immigrant. She was doing drugs and bringing her boyfriend inside her home at age 15!!!
What they did was not illegal by any stretch of imagination - they put her on a plane to visit her father and didn't renew her green card. They have no obligation to renew her green card. I hope this girl uses this time of hardship to mature and become a better, responsible person. |
I think the kid deserved it |
Is it just one heartless bitch repeating herself, or is there more than one monster on here? I wonder if Jeff could tell us. It would be really good if there is just one of you. I hardly think a man a 15 year old has never met is the "father" to her. Her mother wanted to please her husband so she got rid of the unruly teenager. In any event, she is hardly an immigrant having grown up here since age 2. I don't even think you read the whole story. Also, since she is not yet 18, she is considered a minor child and can't apply for her own permanent residence. I wonder what you were doing at 15, 16, 17? Please tell us. Somehow I seriously doubt it was anything meaningful since that surely would have "matured" you into a "better, responsible" person. |
Actually I thought you were legally responsible for your children until 18. When did the law change? Perhaps I should send my 5 year old to my baby daddy in Siberia. He has been a bitch to deal with since the clock changed a few weeks ago. |
I was pretty much on my own at 17 and it really did me no harm. was good for me actually. I know lots of other 16, 1 and 18 yr olds also out on their own too. Like her we were resourceful, found place to stay, worked, went to school etc.
Not everyone gets great parents, that is the luck of the draw, but everyone can choose what they are going to do with their own lives. So she can choose to sit there whining and moping about how awful her life and her parents are, or she can choose to make the decisions she needs to make to get to where she wants to be. She is also fortunate that she has grandparents, aunt, uncles, cousins and other family there as well. Unless she is an absolute menace I am sure there is someone within the family that is or would be a supportive person for her. |
You conveniently missed the part where she talks about working 60 hours per week in a hostel to support herself. She has no support from any of her family over there. How about this? Her mother gets her head out of her ass, realizes that you don't just get to ship your kids off when they become difficult and rectifies the situation by bringing her back where she belongs. It's one thing to be sort of on your own and working while living at your parents house here in the US at 17. It's an entirely different thing when you are in a country where you no no one, don't speak the language and have no support. TRUST ME, I HAVE DONE IT. I, however, came willingly and had a host family that helped me for the first couple of years. |
If you are the same poster replying to me (Ive posted pretty much all of the previous messages in support of this poor child), please let me know so I can stop wasting my time arguing with you. |

14:54 have you ever considered that perhaps her mom's new relationship had something to do with her misbehaving? |
Teenagers are annoying, I have one in my household and I'm not too impressed with this girl based on the quotes in the news. That being said...
According to reports I've read, she thought her mom's boyfriend was her father until she was 12 and they broke up. No wonder she was acting out and misbehaving -- any child would react poorly to that kind of instability. Mom took steps to get herself citizenship and didn't bother to do so for her daughter. According to what I've read, she canceled her daughter's application for legal status after getting rid of the kid. Based on what I've read, I feel sorry for BioDad and suspect his daughter is exaggerating his flaws and the real problem is a huge cultural barrier. But I also suspect that her mother and stepfather are exaggerating the flaws of a depressed teenager living in an unstable home environment. While I do not consider them abusive (arrangements were made for her care) I do believe, based upon what I've read in the papers, that they wanted to create the ideal little family and got rid of her as an obstacle to that. They also seem to have nonexistent morals and terrible character -- and their daughter reflects that upbringing and the family values they instilled in her. |
Annnnndddd...I'm still entitled to think that her mom sucks at life. |
