If you didn't go to/graduate college but make 100k plus what do you do?

Depends what you need. I don't deal with hoarders. Seriously. They have serious psychological problems I am not qualified to deal with. When I started out, I charged $30 an hour. I work with the homeowner if they want to purge a room, and on my own if they just want me to organize it. Today I did a kitchen, dining room, front hallway, and half a family room. Oh, and the hall closet as a bonus (when I got there the homeowner was stuck on a work call, so I just spent that 20 minutes and organized the coat closet even though we hadn't agreed on that). I'm charging her $75, but she is getting a discount because she's a friend of a friend, and pregnant. Her youngest stepchild is 13 and they still had sippy cups in their cabinets. She's been married for 3 years and couldn't access her wedding dishes easily.

To be completely honest with you, you can get a nice college girl to come over and help you for $20 or $30 an hour. You don't need to pay my fees - I do the same things now that I did then. You just need a second person there to keep you focused on the task of organizing, and tossing out suggestions until you hear one you think will work for your lifestyle and how your brain works.

Are you comfortable posting your contact/business info? I may need your services. Not a hoarder, btw.

Sorry, thought it said graduate school.

I know a stock trader who didn't go to college and had made over $1 million a year.

You could also be a stock broker without a degree.

In many places at least you do not need a masters for a CPA. My sister is a CPA, she has a liberal arts undergraduate degree and separately took the classes needed to sit for the CPA exam through a community college program. Passed all 4 (I think that is the number) on her first sitting for each. Then of course you need to do the supervised hours. It is not easy but it does not require a masters.

Nothing is required to be a CPA other than passing the exam.

Brother quit school in 9th grade. Today he runs a construction company that brings in about $5M a year. He hated school and was always a hard and dedicated worker.

Not true. I'm a CPA. In order to take the exam you have to have a specific number of credit hours (for example, 150 hours and XX of those need to be in accounting). You don't have to have a Masters' degree, but you need the hours. States also vary on rules to get the license. Supervision/experience for 1 year or 2, passing of ethics exam (separate from CPA exam), etc.

Adding on to this. It used to be that you only needed 120 credit hours for the CPA, now you need 150. I think the change was around 2003 or so (I graduated in 2001 and only had to have 120). You do not need a master's degree as long as you have the 150 hours.

the mid 90s was almost 20 years ago. Assuming your "over half a million" is $600k, that means you made approximately $35k/yr. (2012-1995=17yrs. $600k/17=~$35k)

Not even close to $100k/yr.

I think PP meant they made a half million PER YEAR since '95.

Paid escort.

Yes, a hooker, but on the high end.

Came to D.C. to go to college. Scholarship ran out when my grades dropped. Tried to make up the balance by doing tricks here and there. Pretty soon it was clear to me I could make a lot more than I ever could as a liberal arts major.

Dropped out, and started escorting full time, seven days a week, travelling all over the country. I cleared over $250K tax free on even the worst years. Did that for 10 years. I was disease free and never was robbed or in any way hurt. Also found love. Decided not to push my luck. Go into the management end (yes, I was a madame or pimp or whatever you want to call me). Did that for 5 years. Cleared 300K consistently, and once almost 500K. Never arrested, decided was pushing luck. So retired. Put money into sandwich shop. Made good, but not great money. Upgraded to fast food franchise. Now own several. 7 figure salary. Happily married with 2 kids.

Life is good.

Gotta agree w/the PP: that not what it says. So clearly either math or english (can't tell which) were not 1st PPs strong suit in school.
