| Any real jewelry (other than my engagement ring and wedding band). |
|
another Dyson hater here. What a giant waste of money for the heaviest vaccum in the world that always clogs.
I loved my Kitchen Aid appliances! We had them (their top-of-the-line bought new 4 years ago) in our prior house. Now we have Sub Zero and Bosch and I miss my Kitchen Aid. Our K.A. dishwasher was especially fantastic. |

It's funny.....some things other people hated I loved! It shows how you never know what you'll like just because of someone else's opinion.
I LOVE real jewelry. It's never a waste because you can always sell it (but I wouldn't *want* to ) I will say that my husbands first wedding band was a waste because it was $880 and lost within the first year. He's on his third now and the least expensive from Costco that he's now probably had the longest....since if you buy something less expensive it seems to last longer! I also really liked my baby sling....but I got a larger one that my daughter can still sit in at 14 months.....the Hotslings seem useless to me after a couple of months. I also like my Diaper Champ. And I love my Pottery Barn bedding, but it was on a big sale and my Mom bought it, so that's probably why I love it. Never buy anything there full price! Go to the outlet or get it on a huge sale!

| Real jewelry can rarely be resold at the original price. |
Poster who likes real jewelry here....yes, you are right.....I never said at full price Anyway, I don't normally buy real jewelry at "full price" anyway and it's like everything else that's used, you never get back what you paid if you purchased it new.

| Jimmy choo lady here again... I forgot to say that I ended up thinking 'did I need those Jimmy Choos that cost a total of about $700?' and 'how many litres of clean drinking water, mosquito nets and vaccines could I have bought for other people round the world that need that stuff'. Actually, it is my mom's birthday this week and I gave a donation to oxfam instead of a gift that she doesn't really want - I know she will reall like that. Having DS has really changed my outlook. |
| I like the hair cuttery in tysons mall. and yes they do color (but i've done hair cuts there). actually i see many men in their getting color/highlights! |
| Fancy watches. They break just as fast, signal gaudy, expensive to change battery, and tell time the same as Timex or Swatch. |
Where at the Tyson's Mall? What department store is it close to? I'm desperately in need of cheaper hair cuts and color. Complete Waste to money: expensive haircuts and color. Fancy misc. kitchen items. |

Not one, but TWO, European SUVs that we can't actually afford.
A German bike for DS. $150 high-tech sport shoes that I wear to grocery shop. A bassinet. |
| The Hair Cuttery is by Lord & Taylor on the 2nd level around the corner from Janie and Jack. |
| A $100 bottle of Lumedia. Complete waste of money. I did like the way it smelled though. |
| The ice cream maker. I never have enough room in the freezer to freeze the bowl. |

I love this post. I racked up over $80,000 in credit card debt due to stupid spending.
-interior designer with taste diametrically opposite mine -$4000 sofa that I can't sell now -$4000 dining table from a modern European furniture store -- I had to give it away -organic mattrices for my kids - BIG mistake, they were so uncomfortable, never buy beds over the internet -$5000 vacation in the Caribbean that we couldn't afford -Amazon books (not a total waste, but huge amount of money) -books to prepare my son for his ERBs (never looked at them) -cheap cell phone deals (better to stick to basic Verizon or ATT) -my $90 haircuts (but I go every 3 months) -my kids $50 haircuts with my hairdresser -$2400 gardening work that looked hideous so I had to undo it all -probably close to $500 on Yugi cards for my first son. STUPID. But it taught me to give him pocket money so he could waste his own money and not mine. and then there are the little things, -battery operated toys that break down in around 48 hours max -goody bags -- all the kids really want are the candies -all the food I buy but never use from Whole Foods Ok. That's enough. Now I'm trying to stick to my budget. If you end up having 2-3 kids, you'll use your money better with your second one. |

Since we are talking big bucks now: What about $700 birthday parties., $$ Christmas gifts for the kids, gardening service to cut the lawn for $70 and I have a garden the size of a postage stamp.
