What have you bought that was a complete waste of money?

Anonymous
My DH and I tallied up the things that we bought in the last 5 years that were complete wastes. It came to over 10k.
Our list included Little Gym classes, a trip to Disney, and furniture from Scan.
Does anyone have other things to share so I don't feel alone on this?

why was little gym a waste-we like it?

Also-I can't wait to take my son to Disney-I have gone before and stayed at nice but really inexpensive places off season and it was outstanding-why was your trip bad?

Treadmill, weight bench, loft bed (what a disaster that was - DS hit his head on the ceiling a few times and wouldn't use it again), rear projection TV, tanning bed subscription, anything from QVC, bread machine, yogurt maker, straight cut shedder, extended warranty on dishwasher, hot tub and we leased a car we couldn't afford. I see your $10K and raise you $22K.

When your child gets older, you might look back and say "what a waste."

Gorgeous baby nursery bedding and accessories.

We spent almost $5K on baby furniture - I blame it on hormones. My neighbor spent about $400 at Burlington Coat Factory last year and the set was adorable.

Yup, done that.

I'll second the Disney being a waste of money. All my kids wanted to do was swim in the hotel pool, which we could have done right down the street instead of traveling all the way to Florida. And, we went off season so it wasn't about lines for us.

Disney is a huge waste of money for very small children. Take them when they are two and they remember...what, exactly? Silly.

ITA with the Little Gym. For us it was J.W. Tumbles. That's a lot of money to spend for an indoor playground.

Yeah - I think Disney is best with the 5 and up crowd.
I personally loved toddler gym class (I met some great moms) and zoo classes.

I spend too much on clothes.
Eating out. We out waaaay too much.
We bought a 2nd larger car, then got rid of our smaller car. Stupid.
Parking at work instead of Metro/gas money
