Maybe? But there are so many people/bots here just shitposting and trolling that it's not really a self-reflection (only) situation. Check yourself, sure; that's always a good idea. But you also have to accept that the nature of believing you're anonymous on the internet will bring out some bad actors, regardless of what you do/say/post.

Oh I agree with this. I didn’t mean the “insufferable” comment was from a paid troll. That was just someone who took the worst possible interpretation of a question I asked.

But there are plenty of people who are so transparently trying to get fights started, it seems possible that they are paid for their effort. (And wouldn’t this site be a great target for an entity that wanted to create divides?)

Nothing I can remember being a zinger that affected my soul or anything.

I feel badly for anyone who gets an immediate 'you must be fat or ugly or fat AND ugly' type of misogynist response. I always hope people can just sidestep known idiocy like this but some people have clearly been hurt in life and engage with these dumb monsters.

The only eyeroll-worthy one I get sometimes- I'm Canadian with British parents so as a result I spell colour, Mum, neighbourhood without giving it any thought. There is a poster (or more?) who MUST respond to my replies with querying corrections eg "You mean MOM?" No, I don't- sorry- this is America- EVERYONE belongs here- we put up with you, don't we?

I’ve noticed several posts on this thread where folks say they’ve been insulted “a bunch”. Perhaps these posters should take a look at their communication style. When something keeps happening, look at the common denominator.
