Or is it time we accept that US is fundamentally misogynistic and don’t float female candidates for president?

When Hilary ran, it was an eye opener for me - I thought however bad racism is here, the sexism is much worse. Now we have a president elect who is a convicted rapist and on video tape as saying he routinely sexually assaults women he finds attractive. He refers to female opponents in highly vulgar and vicious ways.

Now half of US states don’t have basic human reproductive rights. Maybe we do have to stop worrying about women in those states if they reelect the guy who orchestrated this fate for the .

Maybe Dems need to learn to suck up More to Billionaires in Big Tech?

I agree with you that Dems need to learn from this election but don’t think their agenda was particularly extreme.

Dems should just do what MAGAs do already, pursue their own selfish interests.

If conservative women want their daughters to be forced to give birth to infants with terrible birth defects, eff em.

If people "struggling" with inflation want to enact massive tariffs and block most immigration, thereby guaranteeing massive inflation, eff em.

If people want to let Russia retake all of Eastern Europe, eff em.

Agreed. That and the “woke” stuff. My 70-year-old aunt is an extreme liberal and even she said that the Dems need to stop with this stuff if they want to win.

I’m 45 and as liberal as they come but 1) Hamas is a terrorist organization and 2) men aren’t women. (Trans people shouldn’t be persecuted, before someone jumps on me.)

Trump is a straw at which his voters grasp. Unfortunately he’s a fake and an idiot and will sell American intelligence for money.

So yeah. Depressing day.

To me the questions to ask are:
1) Where have our regulations not accomplished our goals?
2) Why is our healthcare the most expensive in the world with the worst outcomes (despite Obamacare)?
3) Have we made our country safer by funding wars in Israel and Ukraine? or less safe because now more people in the world hate us? Or another way to evaluate: is the death that our weapons have caused the work whatever goals we think it accomplished or were we influenced by military contractors and the old timers' fear of communism.
4) How much immigration does our country need to fill jobs and pay taxes into the system to keep social security and Medicare solvent? Is the illegal immigration bringing the people we need to fill these gaps or should there be a policy of tight borders but increased caps for legal immigration? And, what impact has Venezuelan sanctions and other US South American foreign policy had on economic conditions in origin countries and should this be changed to stop the flow of illegal immigration from those countries?

I am sure I could go on. My point is that Ds need to do some open-minded and unconventional thinking issue by issue.

Even American citizens are each heavily subsidized (See below). There is NO way that any illegal alien would pay in enough taxes to cover their own Social Security and Medicare, let alone cover benefits for others. If you are proposing that we have them pay into the system, but never receive benefits, that is exploitative. So this is a fallacy pushed on you by the Chamber of Commerce lobby.

"A single person who made the average wage (about $66,100 in 2023 dollars) and retired in 2020 would have paid about $367,000 into Social Security and would then receive about $383,000 in lifetime benefits."
https://www.freefacts.org/resources/how-much-...lifetime%20benefits.

"For a single male earning an average wage every year and who retired in 2020 at age 65, lifetime Social Security and Medicare benefits would equal about $640,000, while total taxes paid would be just shy of $470,000. For a couple with one average earner and one low-wage earner, benefits would total about $1.24 million, while taxes would reach $680,000."

When did the Dems come out in support of Hamas? You can't seriously be saying that it was the Dems support of Hamas that lost them the election.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. Every major leader of Hamas has been killed (Sinwar, Haniyeh, Deif, many others). Yet every single day there are 50+ Palestinians killed in Gaza.

Palestinians do not equal Hamas.

Palestinians are being ethnically cleansed in Northern Gaza. That is a fact. It is shameful and a war crime.

Agree

They need a candidate who inspires people the way Obama did. There were plenty of voters who could have helped defeat Trump, but they stayed home.

Define "persecution" and what should and should not happen.

I'm an older Den voter who doesn't agree with the trans stuff, but I still vote Dem.

Agree - that isn't even on my radar and I'm pretty sure for Dems overall that isn't their first concern or top issue. It only seemed that way because it was amplified by the right.

Me too. But it is on the radar of many middle Americans. Including many democrats who don’t want trans people on their daughters’ sports teams. It’s not an issue for me but I’m telling you it is an issue for the majority

This is not the fault of Democrats. Apparently the majority of Americans want a Christofascist government.

I’m in Texas. Basically this is just a widening of what I have been living in for the past 10 to 15 years.

This but it’s rooted in racism. I encourage everyone to watch the documentary Bad Faith on Prime Video. It was very eye opening.

It’s a trumped up issue and people who voted because of that issue are idiots, assuming they don’t want to live in a dictatorship. But maybe they do.

I’m the PP. I agree with you. But if we want to win elections we need to recalibrate
