"All Gender Bathrooms"

Does your daughter know for a fact, she is in a dormitory with an all gender bathroom? Most schools have a mixture of dorms some with all gender bathrooms, others without. My son went to Virginia Tech, and while it was a coed dorm, each floor was a different gender so his floor bathroom was a men's bathroom and the floor below him was a woman's floor with a woman's bathroom and so on and so forth. My other son went to university of Maryland and his dorm was also coed, but one side of the elevators was the men's side with a men's bathroom on that side and on the other side of the elevators was the woman's aside which had the women's bathrooms. So even though were coed the bathrooms were not. But if the bathrooms were coed, they would've figured it out. We did not know what the situations would be at either school and until we moved in.

I would be so embarrassed having to poop in a bathroom with boys. How mortifying. Poor girls.

What about lesbians, OO doesn’t want lesbians in the stall next to her child either

Not even close to the same thing as sharing a bathroom with boys.

When they are there to witness it, boys will always make fun of girls that fart or poop. Ugh, have you imagine? I would live in constant anxiety about when I could poop.

Are you one of those crazy people that have to drive home to poop and can poop in a public bathroom?

If the public bathroom is coed, yes I would drive home to poop.

No pooping in Starbucks for you, hmm… odd.

But your bathroom at home is co-ed too. I guess you should go shit in the wood with the bears. You don't fear the bears, after all.

I'm a guy who had these bathrooms in college and this never happened. Not once.

How would you know? Are you a woman?

I am a woman who lived on a coed hall at Virginia Tech in the early 2000s. I remember being harassed by the boys as I walked down the hall if I left the bathroom wearing only my towel.

I'm a man. I said that. I was in the bathroom while women pooped all the time and I never heard anyone say anything about it. I asked my wife and another female college friend just now just to be sure and they looked at me like I had grown a third head. I also know that we voted every year on whether to make the bathroom coed (secret ballot) and no one ever voted no. So you're expecting me to believe that this thing that ALWAYS happens is happening where I can't see it, where two women can't see it, and where it never happens to any woman who returned to the dorm for a second year?

If you want to avoid coed bathrooms, I don't care, but I do have actual reliable experience here and your stories of a different kind of harassment don't change that.

Correct. Lesbians are women and not as much of a physical threat as men.

Let me guess, you choose the bear?

Just stop.

You're the reason women choose the bear.

You control who goes into your home bathroom, plus it's one person at a time. How do you not understand this?!

There is a college around that is forcing people to be in coed bathrooms. You can choose a dorm that single-sex you can choose a dorm that’s gender neutral you can choose a dorm that’s coed.

Um, these dorms you're all worked up about ... it's a defined population that uses them and people use them one at a time.

What is it that you envision is happening here?

Why are right-wing nut jobs SO OBSESSED WITH TOILETS AND BATHROOMS?

If men want to do things with a tree, that is their business

If my daughter goes to an all girls' school, will there be separate bathrooms for straight and lesbian women?

I went to Wellesley in the 80’s and even we had coed bathrooms. Visiting men were not required to leave the building and pee in the lake.

I’d choose a bear over OP.

At our school, those types of bathrooms can be used by anyone, but they are for one person at at a time.
