"All Gender Bathrooms"

Anonymous
Coed bathrooms were never a thing at Virginia Tech.

I would be so embarrassed having to poop in a bathroom with boys. How mortifying. Poor girls.

OMG what is wrong with you

UF in the 1980's men and women on the same floor and shared bathrooms

We survived.

Send your dummy kid to Liberty or Hillsdale no issues.

I don't understand what you don't understand.

You have all gender bathrooms in your home, don't you?

Why is this puzzling for you?

Are you slow?

Oh, look. Someone else who can't understand your father and brother(s) respecting your privacy vs. strange men who have no motivation to treat you well and respect your bodily autonomy.

Reading this thread, I'm actually disturbed at the number of men who seem to feel entitled to access to naked women. If this isn't an argument for same-sex bathrooms, I don't know what is.

Nobody is naked in common spaces you freak.

What about lesbians, OO doesn’t want lesbians in the stall next to her child either

What men "feel entitled to access to naked women"? You aren't making any sense.

Again, your home's bathrooms are all gender, right? Do you have same-sex bathrooms in your house?

I did in 1999. I lived in a women's dorm at Purdue. Men were not allowed on the floors past 10 pm and never in the bathrooms. What's your point here, exactly?

You shouldn't brag about going to school at Prude in Flyover Country. I mean, it's bloody INDIANA. Mike Pence country. MOTHER!!!

NP. What is it with all the dumb folks on DCUM lately? I can't imagine this person is from around here. Go away.

Happens every summer.

They provide more privacy than bathroom stalls and showers with only a curtain, the system my single sex dorm provided. Each stall is to the floor with a locking door. The only thing communal is the row of sinks. Benign neglect is the norm.

Are there colleges that don't have housing options with single sex bathrooms? Many even have semi private or private options. You pay more for it but if it is important to you, then you have options.

Otherwise, using a stall next to someone who has different genitals will not impact her modesty. She can dress and undress and do what she wishes within the stall and be as clothed as she wants when actually in places where she will be seen by anyone else.

Are you obligated to let strange men into yours? Or just too stupid to see the difference? You. Are. Not. Entitled. To. Access. To. Women's. Spaces.

People like the PP have an agenda to push. No more safe spaces.

My husband went to Purdue in the late 90s and I can assure you men were upstairs in the women’s dorms after 10pm.

Who do you think is naked in the common spaces of a bathroom and why? I did this in college and I never saw a single naked person in the bathroom.

I would have literally NOT applied to that school based solely on that fact. There is NO way I'd do that. My mom and I once went into a clothing store we'd never been to and it turned out there was a communal dressing room. I noped out of there so fast it made my mother's head spin. She tried to be all "it's no big deal" and I told her to go ahead and change in front of strangers.
