In-state UVA or UMich no merit ?

For that major Georgetown, GWU and W&M would all be better choices from an academic standpoint.

Not worth the premium for UMich. Save the money for grad school.

Hates GW campus.

Between UVA and W&M- do you think WM is better for that concentration? He likes it too.

For that degree, either choice is fine. Go for fit.

How’s this for a response: let your kid pick already.

GWU full pay over Michigan full pay? Now we’re getting ridiculous.

DC resident here.

UVA 100% for that major and instate tuition.

I like Michigan but sending this kid there would be choosing to flush a lot of money down the toilet.

100% UVA. My DS is in a similar major and having a great experience. No need to spend so much more for either Michigan. W&M is more expensive and farther away. My DS had it as his backup but got into UVA ED. Never regretted it, is a third year now.

Michigan and not even close and I am a VA resident.

I’m a Michigan resident, and I say UVA in this case. So we even out.

If not cost difference, I'd seriously consider Mich. But if you're in-state to UVA then I'd say it's totally not worth the cost and hassle. Also, if the kid is going to stay in the DMV after graduation, the UVA name/recruiting effort will go farther here than UM.

This is such a dumb post. Both schools will take you just as far in the DMV. Michigan is an excellent school. It just costs too much when you have the in state UVA option. This is all about the money.
