In-state UVA or UMich no merit ?

DC went to Umich Engineering and did a business minor at Ross. Umich Engineering is a campus in itself. UVA does not come close to the academics and opportunities provided by Umich.

This is just a troll post to bash Michigan. Of course it isn't worth more than in state UVA.

Next, we'll get the poster to remind us that 40% of Michigan's freshmen class score below 1300 on the SAT's.

Michigan - No question
Much better school and environment.

1000% agree. Have you visited UMich? There is no comparison to UVA.

I agree. Almost every comparable program is better in Ann Arbor.

Pp I was agreeing to uva over umich. Absolutely not one single reason to choose umich out of state if uva is an option.

But, nice try.

My daughter was a Shipman Scholar at. UM. No tuition and an extra 10k too. Admittedly a hard scholarship to obtain. We are from the North and have that cultural bent and it was an easy call. My brother, an Econ prof at UVa agreed. So there are exceptions. She was in California and commented the Michigan name was well known.

Just another example where there are reasons to attend the better school. Michigan is a national brand.
