That depends on whether other nutjob regimes and terrorists can go 20 years without attacking us.

By “we” you mean Israel?

Huh, I wasn't aware that the Twin Towers were in Israel.

Looks like GWOT never really ended. Who’d have thunk that removing a center of gravity from the Middle East and then fleeing before the job was done would have had consequences.

US isn't good at playing the long game internationally, thanks to our screwed-up domestic politics. Which by the way are screwed up in part due to influence operations by Russia and others. It's too bad people can't put country first, rather than party first or money first.

This was a very serious incident. Iranian backed militias used drones to kill three American soldiers. Another eight had to be airlifted. Forty injured. And this was in Jordan.

If you spend any time watching the footage from Ukraine, you'll know that drones are absolutely brutal.

I don't have a lot of faith in Biden, but suspect they are presently building a coalition that includes Arab states. And they'll go hard. I don't think they'll hit Iran directly. But Iran has proxy armies all over the region. Don't think they'll hit Hamas. No one one wants to get involved with that. Don't think they'll hit Hezbollah, since they've been reasonably responsible and don't want the fight.

But I suspect Iranian backed militias in Iraq and Syria, as well as the Houthis, are going to get wrecked in the coming weeks.

We shall see.

Iran is causing a lot of chaos in the Middle East lately.

Would watch carrier groups. No one is invading Iran. But suspect the US and its allies will bring it.

The Americans’ foreign policy and strategic thinking has been a joke for 2 plus decades because Americans aren’t good at it. If Americans put country first, America would not have started wars built on lies and would have considered the long term consequences of half-assing military operations that go against their own doctrine. America spends all this intellectual capital on creating the NDS, NSS, NMS, etc. and then doesn’t follow any of it (FYI when everything is a priority, nothing is). The mess in the Middle East is a direct result of creating a black-hole vacuum and then running away.

Thank you for sharing the names. This is heartbreaking. A dark day for Georgia in particular.

They need to hit Iran directly. Hitting Iran's proxies won't bother Iran at all. They need to take out leaders of the IRGC.

It’s ok they signed up to fight and die. This is why we have property insurance right?

What the point? This has not worked in the past. Iran is a huge country, with a large population and it’s a real country. The US needs to change policies in the ME and address the Palestinians refugees. We can not make the world safe for Israel by bombing every country in the region.

Oh and what Arab states are going to join the US? We are seen as Israel dumb thug.

Bin Laden supported the targeting of American civilians in retaliation against US support for Israel and Us troop attacks against Muslims. He argued that all Americans were complicit in the crimes of their government due to majority of them electing it to power and paying taxes that fund the US military. If we were not so Israel we could manage the region much better.

And now Biden is promising the Saudis nuclear weapons if only they establish relationship with …Israel.

We have bigger problems at home to focus on. The orange Cheeto messiah is going to be the next POTUS.

These people know what they signed up for when they went there to meddle in the affairs of the Middle East on behalf of Israel. Don’t want to fight and die? Don’t volunteer to fight for Israel.

They were probably right wing trumpet voters any way. The world will go on without them.

You're sick.
And, didn't you hear that they were fighting "on behalf of this administration?"

Dead Americans should mean dead Iranians. Particularly those who order this. Anything else is weakness
