Tower 22 drone attack

What has the US ever learned from pissing in the pool of the ME ever since we helped Britain overthrow Iran's democracy in the 1950s?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It is just a graveyard for US soldiers and a toilet for trillions of dollars of our taxpayer dollars that results in nothing expect more instability and millions of deaths. And the world hates the US the more we stick our D in affairs that aren't ours.

Americans need to come to grips with the fact that we have to live in a world the way it is, not the way we want it to be. I don't give a crap if people making $179 per year blow each other up over religion. None of our business.

We are slowly watching a Trainwreck happen and the US gets sucked into occupation of Iran. And that's assuming this straw doesn't break the camels back wet US hegemony that's worn thin and Russia, China, NK now get sucked in too. Trillions in waste and milions of more deaths due to US bombs. Meanwhile, US infrastructure is falling behind the 1st world by 80 years, we don't have healthcare, education is unaffordable, people can't afford to have kids, and we are being overwhelmed by an immigration crisis.

US always has its priorities messed up, but at least all the swamp rats and their defense contracting companies in DC will get paid trillions while our people die of diabetes because they can't afford medication.

Trump had Iran without 2 nickles to rub together. Iran is acting before Trump comes back.

And how vulnerable we are in DC and NYC when these sleeper cells are activated. It’s not a pleasant thought.

Parents of children better start voting Trump. The “special needs” swamp and the vegetable are going to get everybody killed.

Do they really have the upper hand?

Surely not

Do the NVA and VC really have the upper hand? Surely not.
Do former Iraqi military turned insurgents reall have the hope hand? Surely not.
Does the Taliban really have the upper hand? Surely not.

+as many as I can muster

So many morons here think our many fancy weapons (maybe they’re just expensive?) will automatically carry the day. Fact is our warfare doctrines haven’t looked so good in an our last few outings. And Genocide Joe and others still have been reflexively escalating here against a much more sophisticated enemy!

Agree in part, the whole proportional response method needs to go. Responses need to make the enemy stop, if they don’t then the response needs to be sufficient to prevent any further action.

I don't know what Iran is up to. It's not a popular regime. But their proxy forces in Iraq, Syria, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas sure seem intent on creating mayhem in the region. Hopefully, the US can put a coalition together - Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians, and the UK and knock it off with the the ticky tacky proportional responses and really hit hard. If Iranians and their proxy forces are killing US soldiers in Jordan, which should be a safe place, their forces in the region need to be wrecked - militias in Iraq, Syria, and the Houthis. Hezbollah is behaving more or less. And there is no chance anyone is getting involved with Hamas in Gaza.

I doubt Iran itself would be struck. That would require serious planning and preparation for all contingencies. Will be interesting to see if another carrier group heads toward the region. But the Biden administration really does need to strike hard. We cannot have Iran killing US soldiers all over with impunity. That will continue to escalate until Iran experiences severe consequences.

Some of the IRGC leaders need to be taken out.
Iran doesn't care if we strike proxy groups' weapons depots or locations. They need to be hit where it hurts.
And, sanctions need to be put in place and ENFORCED. They are rolling in dough since Biden became president.

Exactly. Funny how no one seems to question why US soldiers were in Jordan in the first place.

US forces at the outpost are there as part of an advise-and-assist mission with Jordan.

CENTCOM said later Sunday that “there are approximately 350 U.S. Army and Air Force personnel deployed to the base, conducting a number of key support functions, including support to the coalition for the lasting defeat of ISIS.”

Central Command said approximately 350 U.S. Army and Air Force personnel were deployed to the base. The three who were killed and most of the wounded were Army soldiers, according to several U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to give details not yet made public.

The small installation, which Jordan does not publicly disclose, includes U.S. engineering, aviation, logistics and security troops. Austin said the troops were deployed there “to work for the lasting defeat of ISIS.” Three officials said the drone struck near the troops’ sleeping quarters, which they said explained the high casualty count.

It's scary to think about the prospects of Trump or Biden leading the country until 2029 considering the current instability in so many regions of the world and the recent actions of numerous adversaries. I'm not sure if Haley is the one but we need an FDR to step up.

Staying in the JCPOA and moderating the Iranian leadership as had been working before 2017, would have helped here, but no one on the right wants to discuss that.

The war machine votes to leave our troops in the middle east as bait, funds our enemies until they kill Americans, then uses the dead troops as a justification for a new war.

This is all about Israel. Israel’s refusal to settle the Palestinian issue results in Iran or whoever is next to continue to gain support throughout the region. It is past time to slap Israel down and change our policies and alliances in the Middle East.

What did taking out Iraq at Israel instigation get us? Why must the US continue to support Israel when 98% of the US population gets nothing out of Israel? If Israel wants to destroy Iran they should do it on their own.

Agreed. And she's all we've got. Everyone else is crazy/senile or both. We've got to get behind her before it's too late!

Dream on.
Biden wanted so much to cut a deal with Iran that he didn't enforce sanctions allowing Iran to rake in the dough over the past 3 years.
Iran is dangerous and needs to be dealt with harshly.
