Tower 22 drone attack

The US is so alone in this. We had to fly bombers from the US. No ally would allow the US to use their bases in the area- Germany, Italy, UK, Turkey, etc.

Israel never lets the US use any base in Israel. Thanks Israel keep being our most important “ally”. What a f’ing joke.

Do they really have the upper hand?

Surely not

The deluded gonna delude!

From a military standpoint, right now, today -- there is no country that can go to war with us and survive. A case can be made for China. But that is all. There would be a cost in money which we have lots of and does not really matter and people which is a tough one. But what you cannot do is ignore the attack.

From a military standpoint, the US would not survive a war with China or Russia. Have we already forgotten MAD?

Your mistake is in your assumption, which is the same assumption of the vast majority of Americans, that the goal is to " win the war" ....

The various proxy wars in the middle east are, ultimately, mechanisms for weapons industry, their lobbyists and contractors to make billions. And these consortiums around the world all operate in competition with each other but are all built in that nexus of Pol/Mil, Defense contractors and Intelligence industry operatives. As Josh Paul perfectly illuminated for all of us in his resignation letter, it is the US State Department that is the funnel through which trillions of weapons of war and state sponsored funding of dictators is achieved: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/josh-paul-655a25263_explaining-my-resignation-activity-7120512510645952512-APhR

Iran has the Rev Guards who siphon billions out of the economy and Hezzbollah and the Iranian Intell agencies that all coordinate

Russia has the Oligarchs around Putin, the FSB and militias like Wagner with their tentacles everywhere in Africa and Syria

Israel, has its spyware, its military sub-contracts corrupting every EU Gov't , its blackmailers, AIPAC with its hands on US Admin throat pressuring billions in military support to wage its wars/ pursue it's territorial ambitions to take more and more land ( Golan, Sheba farms, South Lebanon( which they now refer to as " Northern Samaria" , Gaza and West Bank )

USA hasn't been an actual Democracy since Roosevelt . Instead it is largley run by the entities empowered by the 1947 National Security Act: the NSC which has basically taken over what was supposed to be the role of Congress in US War powers, and handed it to NSC, CIA, the major weapons manufacturers, their lobbyists and now, post 9/11, the " private sector" spyware companies who keep any opposition that might arise in the USA in check by violating the 4th amendment

While the American public is fed the BS about " the war on terror" or " the fight for democracy in the Middle East" , the above 1% and their interests continue to count their Billions $$$$

Every 4 years their is the matter of a new American election to formally recognize who the POTUS will be- its generally whatever person can convince the above powers that be in the USA that he or she won't rock the boat.

So, whether it's Russia's population that is suffering or Iranian people or the vast majority of Americans who continue to make only $7/hr and can't afford a home, health insurance or college for their kids, we are all just seen as a source of military recruits, payers of taxes and " voters" who every 2- 4 years " vote" and in so doing provide a veneer of legitimacy so they can just get back to business.

Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, questioned the effectiveness of the US bombings.

“The aim is to degrade their ability to strike over a longer period of time, albeit at the risk of starting a regional war. This is ultimately a suboptimal strategy. It would be more effective to reduce their interest in striking against the US … The most effective way to shift the interest of these militias is through a ceasefire in Gaza,” said Parsi.

“There is no escaping this reality: Nothing in the region is likely to de-escalate unless there is de-escalation in Gaza. Unfortunately, Biden’s approach thus far has been to avoid putting material pressure on Israel for a ceasefire.”

He has to respond, but at the same time he’s made it very clear he does not want to escalate, and that means two things; he can hit Syrians, that’s easy and nobody cares about the Syrian government, but the Americans do care about the Iraqi government.”
America does not want to get ejected from Iraq, particularly not before the elections in November. So, it wants to be strong, but it doesn’t want to kill too many Iraqis.”

HA Hellyer, a military analyst at the UK-based think tank Royal United Services Institute, told Al Jazeera, adding that if the US wants to de-escalate and not go to war with Iran, the key to that is Gaza.

Washington has “failed to apply any real leverage in order to bring a ceasefire to Gaza, which I think would really diminish the tensions in the region and remove the fuel for this sort of escalation taking place, which is likely to continue over the coming days and weeks and beyond”, he said.

Maybe the US should have targeted hospitals and high rise buildings like the Israelis do. It seems to work for the Israeli and Russians.

The administration is doing this to show we did something in response for killing Americans.

They will always give a heads up to Iran prior to attack so as not to escalate tensions with Tehran. There is no sense in starting a war over this prior to an election.

Seems as if "Don't!" didn't work.

The U.S. drone strike that killed an Iraqi-based militant leader was a "blatant assassination" that showed no regard for international law, the Iraqi government said Thursday.

The strike blew up a car in a Baghdad neighborhood late Wednesday, killing a commander of the Kataib Hezbollah militia responsible for planning and participating in attacks on American troops in the region, the U.S. military said. Hezbollah in Lebanon condemned the killing as “a continuation to the US’ previous crime and continuous aggression against our people in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.”

Major General Yehia Rasool, spokesman for Iraq's government, said the strike violated Iraqi sovereignty and showed disregard for the safety of civilians. Rasool said in a social media post that the U.S.-led military coalition in Iraq consistently deviates from "the reasons and objectives" for its presence in the country, which is to prevent an ISIS resurgence.

Looks like the US is getting kicked out of Iraq. All for Israel! Too bad there is not another country where we could station our troops to carry out the mission…maybe Israel?? Oh that’s right the US is not allowed to use bases in Israel.

It should be mentioned that, in point of fact, the US showed extraordinary regard for the safety of civilians in that strike.

There is a cost to this. The US has deployed aircraft carriers away from the pacific to be on station around Israel. This gives the Chinese a free run. The mission is unending and objects are not clear.
