I checked the subreddit every day and honestly never saw this. There were crime posts but for actual crimes, and maybe 1/day? The bad comments got downvoted so I didn’t see them. And I also didn’t bother to read comments on the crime posts.

I truly believe they are banning crime posts for political reasons - because they think discussing crime (even actual crimes) is inherently racist.

The crime posts by themselves aren't racist, they just happen to bring out the racists, the sealions and the JAQoffs.

so no discussion of crime allowed?

Only if the perps are white. Literally.

Shutting down discussion of crime is totally inappropriate. If the mods think posters are being racist, they should report them and have those specific posters removed. But from what I've seen, a majority of comments about crime on r/washdc are not about race.

And frankly most blacks in DC are indeed very concerned about crime, and the black community has been the hardest hit and most heavily victimized by the rise in crime. The r/washingtondc mods are not handling it well at all.

Or if the victims are white cyclists.

Who doesn’t want to read Midwest conservatives weighing in on the crime in a city they’ve never been to?!

You have a very inflated sense of self worth and self-importance.

There is no crime in our city. (no typhus either)

What are sealions and JAQoffs?

Proof that PP is way too online. (His claim is completely wrong as well)

Why do you think that’s even happening? Wouldn’t that basically be the equivalent of urban liberals from DC making posts on a discussion forum about base fishing in Missouri? That would also never happen, either.

I think the people discussing DC crime live right here. That’s why they’re discussing it.

Luckily, no one is asking anyone to read anything. Are you paying attention to the issue, even a little bit?

Most of the recent cyclist deaths in DC have been black guys over 50. And I rememember seeing threads for them on /r/washingtondc and /r/bikedc.

Now they're starting to ban posts on the protests this past weekend, for completely unknown reasons. People are finally starting to see the mods for who they are: Utterly sad people.

That subreddit is now officially just as bad as the Popville comment section, full of mediocre white people who have lived here for two years but think they're DC experts. They're the kind of cretins who insist that Georgetown doesn't have a Metro system because the neighbors protested.

Crime posts? Banned, unless the victim is a white cyclist. Those posts are allowed.

Protest posts? Apparently banned.

36 repetitive posts about where to find the best burger/bbq/wings/breakfast in DC? Sure, the more the merrier.

Some redditor's crappy photo of a cherry tree? Yes, please.
