Look up the glucose goddess on instagram. Buy her first book. It will seriously change your life. |
Use exercise videos. Buy an adjustable exercise step and step up and down Have you considered something like TRX? You can do a lot with them. I think you will feel better after getting some exercise. Include the kids - dance around the house. Do one minute intervals of jumping jacks. Squats, sit ups, push ups, marching in place, etc. |
Oh STFU about the racism, already. It’s exhausting. |
You tube and a yoga mat will absolutely make a difference. Buy yourself some small hand weights and resistance bands. Everything you need will fit in a small basket. |
Get the peloton app and do floor mat exercises. Even 10-15 a day will help at first! Order a yoga mat, and get weights. Try 5lbs at first, you will adjust and need to get heavier weights after awhile. Do short lower body & upper body workouts (they have 10 minute segments!). Do 5 minute core sessions. Do the Barre classes. These are all listed under the “Strength” tab.
As long as you do it every day, you WILL feel stronger. Do not stop. Do it every day. It will truly make you feel better and stronger and more confident. |
It's also possible to track net carbs, subtracting the fiber. I've often eaten under 20g total carbs for periods of time, not that hard if avoiding sugar and grain and great to lower inflammation. No more knee twinges. |
This idea of "net carbs" is built on falsehoods. It's a concept that fits those that still want to eat crap carbs and justify it. Companies aren't dumb, they just dump a bunch of "fiber" into a high junk-carb product and tell you not to worry about it because the fiber will grab onto those junky carbs and suck them right up and out before they affect your body. Don't fall for it. |
This exactly. All of these dumb gymnastics can be avoided by not eating shelf stable garbage foods and avoiding refined sugar generally. |
Nice strawman. Carb content is kind of a catchall. Some carbs will impact blood glucose levels and some won’t. At the end of the day, it is the body’s response to blood glucose levels - insulin - that dictates weight gain. |
The fastest route to weight loss is to be hungry. Get hungry and then hungrier. It will come in waves. Then eventually it will go away for days at a time. |
np here, thanks for this suggestion! It looks like what I need, I started following her instagram too. |
Not PP but yes, racism is exhausting. |
OP here I had a few slip ups like half a chipotle bowl but still keeping calories low. I do have a yoga mat from my first kid birthing class ha! Ask me how many times I used it ….
Question for you all I’m 5’7’ and 157 pounds but it’s all in my stomach and hips and arms too, how do I target that area it’s really pronounced? Or is it the last to go? Will it ever go or do I need the exercise? It’s like I’m wearing a life ring around me anytime I put clothes on sigh. |
You can't spot reduce. Your body stores fat wherever it chooses. If you exercise, it will go faster. If you do strength training, in particular, you will look better. |
