I am taking the private school magnet decal off my suv because…

I told her let me get back to my office and walked away. I never told this coworker or anyone at work that my child goes to private. The only way she would know is from my vehicle. Just venting. She caught me off guard.

I hope you will find a way to continue in this trying time. Thoughts & prayers!

You are upset that you got called out for bragging about your kid’s private school?

Rip off the decal and make it a ceremony.

You have a very rude co-worker.

I agree, your co-worker is an idiot.

Then why advertise it on your car?

To create the envy

Exactly. That's why I do it.

Isn't it apparent that if you prioritize private education you may not have money left to go on expensive trips? This was certainly true for my family growing up. Middle class child of immigrants who went to a NE boarding school. My own two kids are going through publics all the way simply because we could not make the same sacrifice my parents made for me.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

What about all the bumper stickers I see on cars that say "my kid is an honor role student at (name the public school}? Are these people tacky?

I agree. I see more of those public school honor roll magnets than I do private school ones.

Well little kids like them and often demand them to be out in the car. You or your spouse have to say asap No, I have different paint or something.s

We put ours on our washing machine. It has like 6 PPA and swim ones in it too.

But your coworker was rude, regardless.

+1. Rude and immature.

Glad you excused yourself. Just keep things light with people like her.

My DC was excited when they got accepted at their first school and wanted one on our car.
Your coworker is rude and envious. Now you know who she is.
I wouldn't remove my decal.

Because they won’t tank the family finances for private school? Get over yourself.

If she is gonna stalk your car, then she has deep issues that your removal of a decal will not solve.

Oh, I’m so embarrassed for you.
