I am taking the private school magnet decal off my suv because…

My coworker mentioned going to vacation with her family this summer and I said thats nice and I mentioned some staycations for my family this year. (I am a single parent which may or may not mean anything). She had the nerve to say “if i could afford to send my child to a $40k school i would go on more expensive trips”. I told her let me get back to my office and walked away. I never told this coworker or anyone at work that my child goes to private. The only way she would know is from my vehicle. Just venting. She caught me off guard.

Calm down. Wow.

Envy is terrible. How you spend your money and what you prioritize in doing that is nobody’s business but your own.

I mean, isn't that the point of the magnets? to let people know where your kid goes? marketing/support for the school?

But your coworker was rude, regardless.

Everyone involved is bad, classic dcum tale.

I probably would have just thought what your coworker said instead of saying out loud, but it’s not surprising that she has identified your car (and its magnets). I’ve learned many of my coworkers cars just by coming and going at similar times.

Kindly tell your coworker that your child's education is more important than a week in Rehobeth.

Your coworker was rude.

I dont put the decals on bc I'm worried about lunatics with guns.

Then why advertise it on your car?

Rude, but forgivable. She was just thinking out loud and probably didn't mean to offend you.

You prioritize things differently it’s ok. Neither one is right or wrong. There us also nothing wrong with only doing staycations if that’s what you like to do.

I've never put any decals on my car...It's just best for me...

To create the envy

The comment was rude but why would you be surprised that your co-worker knows where your child goes to school? I also have a school magnet on my car and the other day a stranger in the parking lot commented that they have a child there too. I didn't think "wow, how dare this random person talk about my child!" No one forced you to advertise where your child goes to school!
