The "dog bite" shows are one of the best reasons to watch Judge Judy. She loves dogs but many of her shows center around law suits because a dog attacked a person or an animal and again and again the attacking dog owners refuse to accept any responsibility.

So many dog owners, not just pit owners, will do everything to avoid blame when their dogs injure others. It's infuriating to see how they contort themselves to make their dangerous dog the aggressor. There have been several owners who tried to counter sue the bite victims because someone was hitting or kicking their dog to get it to stop. Some have called the bite victims murderers because their dog was put down because of a history of aggression/bites. People can't be trusted to be reasonable.

A lot of home insurers won't provide insurance for homes and renters if they own certain dogs. Time to start reporting people.

It’s clear the dad was the one who is most culpable.

Me personally would have killed the dogs if I were her. Murdered them if I didn’t want them around my children and felt threatened. And then would have dealt with my husband. I sent back my 45 pound dog when I felt he was too aggressive to my 5 year old son, but my husband was on board.

What percentage of pit bull should a dog have before it's banned or put to sleep? Given that a significant number of dogs are mixed breed, what's the cut off? Who gets to decide if a mutt with 20% pit bull is less dangerous than one with 60% pit bull? Do you ban all dogs with any pit heritage?

These dogs should be banned and anyone who owns one who causes harm to another person or animal should be held both criminally and civilly responsible.

I’d ban any dog with 70% or more pit and require those with any pit blood to be spayed/neutered.

I’m not sure if the 65% stat is accurate for bites but let’s assume it is. Pit bills are the most abused and mistreated breed so it stands to logic they would have more fear aggression or aggression than other breeds. I’m not saying whether I would want one or not. I’m just saying the numbers alone don’t give all the facts.

If there was a bred ban in a few years the shelters would just be full of hound and retriever mixes. I don't think rescue dogs would go away all.
