I was wondering the same thing. I feel like half of Europe was ruled by descendants of Queen Victoria. |
There was no TV or Internet during Victoria’s time. This funeral was expected to be watched by 4 billion people across the world. |
That explains a lot. They look perfect. |
I saw in Wikipedia the last three funerals for the Kings they were held at St. George's Chapel. even though they didn't reign long, surprised they weren't held at Westminster Abbey cause it's still the King. Wonder where CHarles will have his? Does anyone know the name of the song that was played during the processional? Hauntingly beautiful. |
No, they are still married. There was speculation in the press in the UK around 2015 or so that he had an affair but it was never proven and let's be frank, the British press has a subset that's very salacious and always out to attack anyone who's famous. No idea of the state of the marriage but they are indeed still married. |
I think William wore a similar blue suit/black tie combo during the walkabouts a few days ago. |
Yeah, for those complaining about the US network anchors yammering on and on -- PBS was the way to go. Virtual silence most of the time. I've had to switch over to NBC due to issues pulling in WETA this morning and the NBC yak yak yak is beyond tiresome. |
Future king, needs to stand out from the crowd. |
No. He’s in a traditional navy suit, fully matching. |
| I was surprised to see Sarah sitting with the family. |
All details were approved by the Queen. Sarah had a good relationship with the Queen and was around for decades. You can tell family/familial ties take precedence as they included even the disgraced former king of Spain. |
| Who is behind William? A York princess’s husband? |
| Because of this funeral etc I will only get my world wide news from BBC. No scandals, no Trump, no Proud Boys. I love it. |
| Without cable, I don’t think you can stream BBC normally. They are making an exception because of the funeral. But I tried to stream BBC last week and it wouldn’t let me because it said I need to buy a UK TV license or something. |
Both navy and black are approved colors for this event. The black tie is the only thing that's not flexible, and you'll notice whenever William or George wears a blue suit, the tie is still black. |
