Did you circumcise?

It's less "I think uncirc'd penises are gross" and more "most women (and teenage girls) think uncirc'd penises are gross, and I don't want my son to ever have to worry about getting rejected or laughed at because of a decision I made." The fact that I personally think uncircumcised penises are gross is completely irrelevant.

Yes, I know in Europe, or American neighborhoods with large Latino populations, most women don't think foreskin is gross, but considering my son is going to Langley, that's absolutely something I considered.

Why do you want teenage girls to see (and judge!) your son's penis?

My husband was circumcised when he was 8 ish due to UTIs so he very much wanted it done. I was very very torn, but decided to defer to the person who had a penis.

We circumcised our two boys.

We cirmcumsized. When my son gets his first blow job I don’t want the girl to run the other way

We didn't circumcise. We decided to err on the side of not cutting away part of our child's genitals

I chose not to- for one I witnessed enough in the newborn nursery to deem to procedure to be barbaric. Second, I thought it's his body, he should make the choice. Third, my experience with 1 uncircumcised man was vastly superior to any of the circumcised men I've been with.

My son is 6.5 now and we've had zero issues.

DH mom was European. He and brother were not circumcised. DH dad died when he was young. Pediatrician convinced DH mom when he and brother were 10 & 12 that they had to be circumcised. Not a pleasant experience.

DH still said no to circumcision for our 3 boys (who are now late teens, early 20s).

Pretty sure this “standard” is going to change since almost 50% have not been circumcised in many areas. The US is lagging behind, of course, as it does in so many areas where other countries have evolved or never gone out of greed or stupidity (eg, food safety standards, agricultural / pesticides practices, medications, sunscreen ingredients… )

I mean, it used to be standard to dock a dog’s tail and crop it’s ears but even that’s been banned in some places due to it being medically unnecessary. Perhaps we should give our boys the same consideration.

+1. I can only laugh at the idiot moms who made their poor sons undergo genital mutilation so these hypothetical teen girls “won’t laugh at them.”

My guess is most ladies don't ask this question of potential mates up-front. It's not a search term on Tinder is it?
