Why? Some kids actually learn better in virtual.

It should be clearly obvious that the student can thrive and there needs to be a significant and documented reason for virtual. Too many failures in virtual learning.

Ou clearly have no idea in what you are talking about and if you want families to return, what are you willing to do to make them want to return?

Can you show us the issues specifically with virtual academy? I have not seen any documented reports specific to them.

You just made the point. MCPS has become a dark box. No information is shared with parents with respect to virtual academy.

Please tell us what issues you have with the VA? It has been a lifesaver for my family. Why are others concerned if families choose that option? No one is forced to choose the virtual option! Students fail in person as well as in virtual learning. A lot boils down to the support they have at home! The success of a student really does take a village - Meaning all people involved should support what is best for the student.

Information has been shared. Please give us your specific concerns to VA?

Some parents think it would be a good idea for their family, but it doesn't work for their kids. They're jealous.

Some think that they will shutdown VA.

More baseless rumors promoted by s**t-stirrers.

Remote school. Remote work. Do you all live in palaces?

Because it is important to mingle with the outside world

Then you “mingle with the outside world” all you like, while minding your own damn business.

They'll show you around the building.

I wouldn't be surprise if they actually do that given how crazy things are in recent months

You do realize this is for virtual school. They have office space but no building.

That is the sound of the joke sailing over your head. Thanks, Captain Obvious.

How do you know it does not work for every child?

Mcps has been clear it iit is staying and there clearly is a demand.

If people want it shut down they need to either address each issue as to why a family choose virtual or provide another alternative.

As long as mcps has a do nothing approach to Covid and Covid remains bad, we will not return in person.

Your post sounds like you are an insider at MCPS. Could you please let us know when will MCPS hold parent orientation for virtual?
