Last year it varied but many of us were not accepted till a week or two before school started, some after. I got concerned and resubmitted our application. I would resubmit to make sure they get it and call and email a few times. A note from a doctor stating a medical need might also help.

This is why people are confused because there is no clarity on the process nor any of the decisions MCPS makes with respect to any of this. It looks more like circus is in town.

Part of the problem is they don't fully know about numbers as some families, including us are waiting to see what MCPS is going to do in the fall in terms of mitigation/masking/covid safety. I'm assuming at this point MCPS will do nothing but a some families were hoping to return in the fall but holding their spots to decide later on in the summer.

I have no idea what you are talking about. What is the process for VA application? What criteria do they use to accept or reject the applications? When will they notify the parents whether the application is accepted or not? When is the VA orientation?
Any communication on these topics? None so far. All kinds of junk PR communication is being sent out everyday but nothing useful for parents.

Just call them already. They have not announced orientation. No schools have. The process to apply is on their website. You keep asking the same questions no one here can answer. They do answer the phone so one has to wonder if you are just looking for drama. The previous information is on the website and will probably not change much.

You actually are wrong on that one. People have received orientation emails from home schools already. No sure what is going on with VA though

These are paid PR posting discouraging and diverting important information. I guess they get paid per post. So they will keep posting "call them" "email them" information is on website etc. This is just distraction. Keep asking and someone will answer if they receive any info. We understand that MCPS quality of communication and service levels have gone down the drains since past two years. So it is important to stay engaged as a parent and help each other. PR has become nasty now a days.

Cute. Source?

Then stay at that home school. We haven't received any information from our home school.

Do you realize that only fools listen to anonymous post like yours on Dcum right? If you do not have anything positive to add to VA parents, PR, you stay off off this thread.

Then why are you posting? You are a terribly nasty person and clearly have no interest in VA but to cause trouble. Just because you don’t like the anwser does not mean someone is a fool or wrong. Post you child’s are and well call for you.

Why do you see trouble in someone asking question? You need to get your head checked

Because you keep asking the same question that no one knows the answer to vs calling the school. Then when we tell you we don’t know you get nasty.

This is very apparent posted by paid PR discouraging and diverting the important conversation on VA orientation.

Hey all! Parent of a VA kid here (and a teacher)

VA is open! They are currently working on student schedules. The entire process has been moved to ParentVue. You can apply there and see the status of your application in ParentVue. Communication will be given closer to the start of school as far as parent orientation. With all schools, they really cannot provide ANY information over the summer as enrollment numbers are in flux. The process for internal teacher transfers just ended and they should be doing final hiring. Lots of great info on the website - they update it as soon as they have more info. I do know they are working on updating the website with departments, teacher info, ect. I'm sure the PTA will have some more info coming out soon as well.

Hang tight!

What is with you and paid PR. No paid PR here. They haven't announced it yet. If its so important to you, why don't you contact the school and find out the date.
