You are missing the point. I am not denying that they are denying people passage at refugee processing areas. What we don’t know is whether they are doing the same to white non-Ukrainian people, or if only non-white non-Ukrainian people are being denied passage.

An awful lot of Republican/right-wing Americans are already on Putin’s side in this. If Russia wants to really turn US public sentiment, they have to target the American left. One really effective way to turn the American left against someone is to accuse them of racism. It would make perfect sense as a social media strategy for Russia here.

Again, I am not saying this is untrue. I am simply saying that we should reserve judgement until the claims have been substantiated through an investigation rather than potentially falling for Russia propaganda.

The US refused its own citizens who misplaced their passports during the Wuhan evacuation. They were left behind. So did the UK.

OP, do you know the legal/passport/visa status of these students? During the Wuhan evacuation, a British woman was told to evacuate but leave her 3-year-old child behind because the child did not have a UK passport.
