Well, someone had better notify the UN, various European, African, and Indian subcontinent governments, CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC, NPR, and other reputable news outlets that confirmed Africans, Indians, and Middle Eastern people were being targeted and prevented from exiting Ukraine. Apparently, they have it all wrong, but this Youtuber has discovered The Truth.

I am not doubting that there was racism at all, not even a bit. I don't know what the situation is on the ground. I will just gently note that very few news agencies have real people with boots on the ground to do in-person newsgathering. A lot of modern-day news has a single/few sources and is amplified when seemingly reputable agencies start quoting each other, making it seem as if the story has been corroborated through multiple diverse sources. The need to put up a headline and copy drives news agencies to do this because they don't want to look like they are behind the curve. This is what primarily gives rise to fake news stories - stories that turn out to be untrue as additional information is gathered.

Again, I am not doubting that there was racism in Ukraine.

+1 Most of the news is terrible now and they just echo each other. The UN condemned racism and are taking reports from people who felt they were being treated poorly due to their race but are not actively investigating the reports. If there was a massive racism problem in Ukraine with specific groups there would not be so many Indian (20k) and African (19k) students studying there because they just wouldn't admit them to their universities.

Is it going to finally happen? Will someone admit that Europe is in fact more racist than the US?

Don't believe me? Take a trip to Spain or Italy with a black American and see what happens.

NP: Interesting over-generalization for someone clearly not Black to push. There is racism, certainly, to be found in both the many countries of Europe and the many states of the US. Sometimes the issues and threats change block by block and even moment by moment. How about focusing on eliminating racism - instead of pushing someone that you believe is not Black to make some sort of meaningless internet declaration about which entity is “more racist”?

Not that you asked, but my trip to Italy was fine. Maybe move this to another thread if you’d like to hear about some of my experiences throughout the US.

It's been bus and train capacity issues. They've evacuated hundreds of thousands from Ukraine. You can only fit so many people onto a bus or train. They've evacuated thousands and thousands of non-whites from Ukraine. Can you find people who think there was racism? Yes, I'm quite sure you can, and some reporters did. But out of the thousands and thousands who got safe passage those stories only represent a handful of instances, a very tiny percentage. This is a non-story to me, compared to Russians indiscriminately shelling apartment buildings or shooting families with children on the street in Ukraine. That is the real humanitarian issue, not people who got safe passage out of Ukraine.

Right, those sources aren’t credible. But you, some couch-sitting mouth-breathing nobody online know what’s really going on.

Exactly. PP is probably white and hasn’t suffered a day in their life of racism. But somehow, they are racism experts

Are any African students staying to help the Ukraine people fight?

Now there is an intelligent question.

The answer is no.

The OP making a war all about - blacks and alleged “racism” is nothing short of evil. To the PP’s point - fight for your country in a war then complain.

Actually, I'm Asian American and I'm recently celebrating the win against systemic racism vis-a-vis TJ admissions. I do enjoy seeing people like you let your racist inclinations show through by castigating an entire race through a negative stereotype. I love winning against racists against you.

Thanks for proving my point that racists like you can't help but keep saying racist things. Enjoy the midterms when other racists like you are voted out of office.

Doesn't have to be the same person. There can be more than one racist, you know. One of them makes the "probably white" comment, revealing him/herself to be a racist, and the other one called me a boot licker who serves a white master in reaction to learning that I'm Asian American. I'll call out racists all day long, whether they are in Ukraine or here in the US.
