The US figured out the new scoring system for men’s, I don’t know how the ladies program has fallen so far behind. We don’t even have consistent triple triple combos anymore.
I also think part of the churn of female Russian skaters is that it’s hard to keep those jumps after puberty. Alysa Lui was supposed to be the US ladies next great skater, but lost her 3A after puberty. The Russian girls usually peak around 15-17. |

| I wish NBC would take that large scoring box off the screen when the skaters are skating. It ruins the aesthetics for the viewer. |

There were National training schools years ago, weren’t there?
If the skating system is different, I was unaware. Does gymnastics no longer have the National training school? I still feel like these children are pushing their bodies way too hard at way too young an age. |

Agree! It's so unnecessary, unlike, for example, downhill skiing showing the current time and leader's time to beat at a particular interval. I shake my head at the decisions NBC makes. No one who loves figure skating thinks a great big box of static information during a performance is desirable. |

Isn’t that pretty standard with skating competitions these days? I’m not saying I like it, just don’t think it is just for the Olympics I honestly think the only thing that would be useful is to show if an element is under review. |

| I like the scoring box. It identifies the element and how many points it’s worth, so a less knowledgeable viewer (like me) can understand why someone who skated cleanly can score so far below someone who spent half their performance wiping out. I do think the box has been getting bigger and bigger though with each competition. Plus the cameras seem to be a lot closer to the ice than usual, so when they’re zoomed in so closely to the skaters, the score box is encroaching on the view. They need to shrink the box and move the camera back a few rows. |

| I’m boycotting the Games and NBC. Not watching. It’s frankly appalling that the IOC awarded the Games to the CCP knowing China is committing genocide against so called minority groups in their claimed borders. China’s level of surveillance and disregard for human rights is appalling. I hope the athletes left their phones at home otherwise all will be tracked and added to the mammoth CCP database that tracks everything. |

| We watched figure skating on peacock last night and there was zero commentary or explanation of what we were watching. Do the local NBC stations at least comment during the skating programs? |
