Skinny moms

Not sure why you connect that with skinny. Only women who simply don't that curve at any weight have fat pancake asses. That's how they are built.

Same with boobs. There are a lot of overweight women who don't have bubble butts or a nicely defined bust, and many others that do.

Yes, can confirm that I was a flat person at size 12, I am a flat person at size 2, and I was a flat person at every size in between. Even though it is apparently "gross" to not have a nice ass or boobs, this is how I'm built.

I grew up with a skinny mom who passive-aggressively fat-shamed me for weighing 120 pounds in high school and definitely contributed to the ED I had in college. The skinny moms who are skinny because of lifelong borderline eating disorders really need to look out for their daughters.

I never met an 8 ft lady, not even 7 ft for that matter. Anyway sizing is inconsistent among brands. I’m anywhere from a 00 (Madewell dress), 0-4 in J Crew, to a 6 in Lululemon. I’m 5’7”.

What is your point? Are you disagreeing that dress size isn’t related to height such that taller people can’t be larger in dress size without looking fat? Are you saying that can’t be true because dress size varies among brands? Are you saying size 8 is fat for anyone within 2 std deviations of the average height (ie like under 5’10)?

I’m saying size 8 in one brand may be different from size 8 in another brand or even in the same brand. I remember my SIL getting married and shopping for bridesmaids’ dresses with all of her party. Most of us were 0-4, all average height to slightly above, but one friend was a chunky 5’3” and had to order size 6. SIL said the friend felt embarrassed that she had to wear a 6.

This is interesting. No one wants there teen to be overweight- or have an eating disorder. But food, weight, portions need to be taught and talked about. There is no way around it. Public schools pass out “free” chocolate milk and cinnamon buns for breakfast (or some other sugar filled poor food option), lunch options are equally bad. Your child is surrounded constantly with more or less unlimited processed junk food as tweens and teens no matter what you do. They have to learn to say no to those foods at times and if they do eat them to limit the amount. Our parents didn’t have to deal with this quite as much. I do think you can do this in a factual way without causing an eating disorder- at least I hope!

Not true. Weight training and cardio help you stay fit and look stronger. Definitely not frail. Wearing sunscreen helps with aging.

Not to mention the benefits of weight training on osteoporosis.

This thread is eye opening, not in a good way. Either there are some trolls or some of you have bizarre ideas about thin/skinny/fit/healthy and what it means to individuals and society.

Not jealous. I’m 5’8 and 130ish. I have a flat stomach and to really arms but definitely have some thighs and a butt, but overall I look good. After I had my third daughter, I dropped to 118-120, and I looked awful that skinny. 10-15 more lbs on me really helped.

I used to be 115 and now I am 125-130 at middle age, trust me you want to hold on to that 115

This is nuts.

This. Threads like this really shouldn't be tolerated. These trolls are what cause teenage girls to become anorexic. There's a special place in hell for these trolls.

+1

I'm going to say no because I work hard on loving my body and accepting all bodies as beautiful. And I'm a size 2 so it's a bit wild that I have to do this at all.

Size 2 is the perfect size (not trolling)

Perfect size for who? Someone who’s 5’1?

Nope. 5’9” here and a 2.

No. I think how a person behaves is wildly more important than how they look.

Most of you using the word anorexic so casually almost always use it for the kind of weight that you don't like for whatever reason. 5'5, 115 lbs woman wouldn't be accepted to any clinic as being anorexic because she's simply not, unless she thinks she's overweight being that weight.

Yes, I’m jealous of the many women - moms in their 40s - in my social circle who essentially eat and drink what they want on the regular and maintain their low weight. Sizes 2 and 4s. Meanwhile I eat no more than 1500 calories (which I log) and regularly exercise and my BMI is high. I think people see women like me as dumpy failures. No matter what I achieve or who I am inside, people will ALWAYS see me as a fat person first.

Lots of people on this thread are trying to convince other women that anything above a size 2 is heavy and overweight. This is a thread filled with toxic people that can contribute to anorexia.
