Not true. Weight training and cardio help you stay fit and look stronger. Definitely not frail. Wearing sunscreen helps with aging.

Not to mention the benefits of weight training on osteoporosis.

This thread is eye opening, not in a good way. Either there are some trolls or some of you have bizarre ideas about thin/skinny/fit/healthy and what it means to individuals and society.

This. Threads like this really shouldn't be tolerated. These trolls are what cause teenage girls to become anorexic. There's a special place in hell for these trolls.

Most of you using the word anorexic so casually almost always use it for the kind of weight that you don't like for whatever reason. 5'5, 115 lbs woman wouldn't be accepted to any clinic as being anorexic because she's simply not, unless she thinks she's overweight being that weight.

Lots of people on this thread are trying to convince other women that anything above a size 2 is heavy and overweight. This is a thread filled with toxic people that can contribute to anorexia.

Sizing is totally BS. The most important measurement of health and fitness is body fat %. You can be overweight and short and squeeze yourself in a size XS stretchy leggings or be Kerri Lee Walsh Jennings , who is a size 10.

Anorexia is extremely rare. Why worry about the very few anorexics when the rate of obesity has exploded in teens? Way to miss the forest for the trees.

Why worry about obesity at all when climate change presents an existential threat to our species? You’re missing the forest for the trees!

We can care about more than one problem at once. I haven’t seen anyone is this thread encouraging obesity. But I’ve seen plenty of posters perpetuating toxic ways of thinking about size and weight.

So my hyperbole and hand wringing. There aren't lots of people encouraging anorexia and toxic thinking, unless you are counting yourself in that, then I agree.

+1

I'm going to say no because I work hard on loving my body and accepting all bodies as beautiful. And I'm a size 2 so it's a bit wild that I have to do this at all.

Size 2 is the perfect size (not trolling)

Perfect size for who? Someone who’s 5’1?

Perfect size for all heights. Do you think the taller you are, the greater your size should be?

Taller people can wear larger sizes -even up to 10! and appear to be thin. 5'7 size 6, but even at size 8, get told to eat a cheeseburger.

In whose eyes? Lol! Show me a celebrity that looks good tall and size 10. If you’re over size 6 you’re on the heavier side

Who cares about skinny celebs. Ladies check your DH's spank bank and Instagram. You'll find a lot more 6-10 than you'd expect (unless he's into younger women).. A lot of guys marry on the skinny side as a hedge against future weight gain ( like after kids, failure to "bounce back"). Size 2 in her 20-early 30s, size 6 -10 milf mid 30s to 50. Best of all not having to lie when I tell you you're beautiful. Anyway in an imaginary world where women's hormones and metabolism was as consistent as ours we'd all be aiming for something between Spears and Kardashian (i.e. 6-10). Don't take my word, just check the spank bank.

You've shown your true colors, see you next Tuesday.

The Kardashians with the exception of Kourtney and Kendall have fake big bodies

I mentioned them only as a visual representation. That said, I never cared how they got there. What matters is getting there. Besides from what I've recently come to realize, half the women I know are fake at some level... might as well put the money into assets that matter. A few hip thrust never hurt either.

36-24-36?
Ha ha, only if she's 5'3...

Baby got back!

No. I really don’t care. I was a size 2 when I got married later in life and after 2 closely spaced kids (the youngest is 6 weeks old) I am a size 10. I’m 5’6”. I am an older mom so I care about getting back in shape so I can have the energy to keep up with my kiddos. I assume I’ll lose some weight when I prioritize exercise (which I really enjoy, by the way!). But I believe you can dress for the body you have and feel good about yourself, and you can also change your body without feeling bad about yourself. Measuring your worth by the scale or a dress size is an impoverished way to live.

This thread is bananas, the HAES people and the 'there aren't enough anorexic people to be worried about giving people eating disorders' people are all just two sides of the same disordered coin.

Anonymous wrote:All bodies are not ok. Diabetes is rampant in overweight women, along with painful knees, painful backs, rec. Cut the crap with fat being ok. Your kids will emulate you and grow up fat and unhealthy.

Be Healthy -- exercise daily and eat sensibly. No bags of Doritos, etc.

Yeah but "Healthy" does not mean you have to be a size 2

If you think skinny/thin is the same as fit/healthy, you are the one who needs your eyes open. The skinniest girl I know never works out and eats horribly (addicted to gummy candy, tons of coffee). Yet the posters on here think she's "healthier" than size 8 women who work out and eat salads.

Really...you'd pass on a C cup and a nice butt if you knew they would never become saddle bags?

Well to each his own
