Which is what they did

I am glad your DD called you. I am thinking about what I would have advised my DD.

I would have asked her to take their picture and send it to me, then I would have asked her to start video recording and live streaming them and asked them if they were recording her and why? I would have instructed her to make a ruckus and draw attention to the situation from other bystanders. She would have said loudly "Yes, I know it is not a crime to record someone. That is why I am now also recording you back. You do understand that women are trafficked and harasser every day and I do not like that I am being recorded by a stranger, gross, middle aged man. I think your intention could be perverted and nefarious, no? So it is smart of me to take your picture and video too and blast it on social media? Maybe your employer or clients sees it and make a determination about you? I am live posting you on Facebook. In case something bad happens to me, I at least have your image for the world to see and report. I wonder what your family, your wife, your children think about you recording a young girl that you do not know, surreptiously? What kind of pervert or criminal does that?".

Nice way to dismiss, or even normalize, the idea that people filming other people in public is worth merely a shrug.

Don't pull out the "But it's not illegal" card. Just because something is not illegal does not mean it's fine to do, or that the subject of the "it's not illegal" filming should just suck it up and be OK with it.

Or maybe these threads are fake? Made up because people like you freak out?

If you want to be confrontational, record them back. If you don't just leave.

I would never in a million years do what those creep old men did, but also never a million years would I delete a photo from my phone just because a kid a Starbucks asked me to.

Human traffickers or Sex offenders.

Make sure that your DD is never alone, parks safely, carries a pepper spray, has her location sharing on.

Your DD is immature.

Not quite.

They engaged the barista who tipped off the men. That could have ended badly. The men could have approached the woman or followed her.

It would have been safer to leave abruptly.

Sounds like an excellent way to get yourself ejected from an establishment or punched in the face.

Punched in the face? That would be prison and a lawsuit.

Low IQ people tend to resort to violence because they can’t form and articulate complete thoughts.

What's low IQ is thinking that anyone is going to be arrested or successfully sued for defending themselves against an obvious voyeur.

But you’re not defending yourself. You’re physically assaulting someone who isn’t doing anything illegal.

That makes YOU the violent criminal here. Because that’s what you are - a violent criminal.

Good luck convincing a cop and DA. What are the odds that someone creepy enough to film at a Starbucks has illegal content on their phones?

OP here. Exactly what I thought as well. One man = pervert. Two together = potential human traffickers

Location sharing is critical. Verizon can take up to 24 hours to provide that if not on.

This. Because here we go with the OP now claiming sex trafficking as the issue. More QAnon trolls on this site.

Good luck not getting charged with assault would be more to the point.

I don’t agree. The chances of them being followed or their license plate being taken would have been much greater. The Barista let them know their activity was noted. They did not get up and follow DD and her friend when they left. They stayed put in the back of the Starbucks. Because it was now too much of a risk to pull anything. Onto the next victim. I am letting people know what happened because these two men have probably engaged in this activity prior and will do it again. People need to be aware.

OP here. It’s stupid not to be aware that sex trafficking occurs in this area, especially now that we know some of the police were involved in covering it up.
