Exactly. |
Not true. My husband is an a independent in Maryland. Voter registration card states it, etc. |
No, Hucker pushed Thrive while realizing the negative impacts for homeowners wouldn’t affect him in TKPK. Utter hypocrisy, not visionary. And I’m a Dem and care about poor people. I also care about my property values. As a middle class person, that’s a big part of my nest egg. Screw anyone who suggests that middle class families like mine have to bear the brunt of “solving the housing crisis” in MoCo while the truly wealthy in this county get richer and richer. |
Elrich does not support thrive. |
Yes, he does and has done several posts on his updates talking about the benefits of Thrive and the vision for county. He absolutely supports Thrive, especially those elements that affect the eastern part of the county the most. |
He doesn’t. |
So true. All hypocrites. |
Then he’s a member of a party called the “Independent Party”. He may want to look up their platform to make sure it reflects his values. This is much different from being an “independent voter”, which in Maryland is called “unaffiliated” because you choose not to affiliate with any political party. |
Blair is as close to a centrist as you will find in this county. |
It’s too bad Riemer’s and Hucker’s vanity campaigns ruined Blair’s chances. It’s very hard to unseat an incumbent in MoCo or anywhere else. It’s even harder with this split in the field. |
I have two theories about this. First, while neither will admit it both are actually running for 2026. Second, I think the TPSS cabal that running this county prefers Elrich to Blair for many reasons, the largest being that they are running circles around Elrich but more importantly Blair challenges their political control. So they are not too concerned about keeping him out of power and actually prefer it. |
Don’t get cutesy. He does support the elements of Thrive that enable the evisceration of middle class communities near metros where many families - immigrants, blue collar workers, etc - can still afford a SFH. He just doesn’t think Thrive goes far enough. So yes, he had objections to Thrive but not about the fundamentals that mean many very diverse, middle class neighborhoods in Glenmont, Wheaton, and Silver Spring will be eaten alive by. |
|
Don’t keep us in suspense!
What terrible monster is coming to eat the diverse middle class neighborhoods alive? |
Google is your friend. Or the Post. Or the DCUM thread on Thrive. |
You are probably confusing Elrich with Riemer or someone else. He opposed Jawando ZTA that would do exactly the thing that you claim he supports. |
