Whoops. A stranger found the child a quarter a mile away? Glad they involved the police. Though I've seen parents of 'missing' children who wandered off get entire search parties with helicopters and never heard of them being charged with child endangerment...

Agree with the person quoted. Kids starting running the neighborhood unsupervised at age 2 in my old neighborhood. The police definitely did not care.

The Duggars live in the middle of nowhere off a highway. This is where they found the kid, not a blocked subdivision with houses all around a cul-de-sac.

My guess is that they want to pressure her to get information on someone else in the family. Maybe her parents? Or maybe it is political and someone wants to discredit jim bobs campaign.

Perhaps, but whomever her source(s) are, seems to be full of accurate info. She knew about an incident in September involving child endangerment, before yesterday's release.

Their yard and driveway is also enormous, so the kid had to have wandered out of the house and the big property, out of the fence and gated driveway, and a quarter mile down the road. That's a pretty long way for a toddler.

If the police were called, and found a kid wandering near a road unsupervised, I’m not sure how that’s some sort of conspiracy. Did the cops go let the kid out back in September when this happened?

Yes, but that sort of situation doesn't usually lead to criminal charges.

Carrie Jernigan, an attorney in AR, said that was the most common scenario for these charges.
