Umm maybe maybe not. But if you have infants or toddlers running in a street with no adults around - its legally amissable to charge child abandonment and endangerment. That's why having 19 kids is a stupid idea. Let alone the next generation - I believe Jim Bob has 20 grandkids under 10. That's a lot of babysitting.[/quote]

Agree with the person quoted. Kids starting running the neighborhood unsupervised at age 2 in my old neighborhood. The police definitely did not care.

Where your kids a quarter of a mile away unsupervised at the age of 2?

The Duggars live in the middle of nowhere off a highway. This is where they found the kid, not a blocked subdivision with houses all around a cul-de-sac.

Their yard and driveway is also enormous, so the kid had to have wandered out of the house and the big property, out of the fence and gated driveway, and a quarter mile down the road. That's a pretty long way for a toddler.
