Read the crime scoop one linked in the second post. It was more info anyway.

Imagine being Sam Goldberg's wife and ... wondering.

Ugh. She sounds a bit odd.

I think she sounds amazingly basic (which I kinda hate as an insult, but it's just so apt) with her NYT wedding announcement, fashion buyer career, Soul Cycle classes, Physique 57 (whatever that is), weekly manicures, somewhat reluctant SAHMing, mommy blog photo feature. It's a Lifetime movie with "American Psycho" vibes, and she's the perfect new-wife character.

I assume Sam Goldberg is a very charming sociopath. He would explain that his ex-fiancee was sadly, very mentally ill. And Philadelphia did officially call it a suicide, so there's that! It's like, "Maybe my new boyfriend murdered his ex-fiancee, but he's Jewish and my biological clock is ticking away!"

A couple weird things from the mommy blog story:

"My husband Sam. He is hands on, and present, a true life saver! He is also a star in the kitchen." (Ellen was murdered in her kitchen)

"Everyday I work on being comfortable and thankful with where I am in my current situation, including right now, staying home with my delicious daughter Lola as well as sitting back row and not wearing just a sports bra in Akin's Soul Cycle class." (Is this a mean-girl burn on the other women who wear just sports bras in Akin's class? IDK)

If she's smart she'll sleep with both eyes open.

Either she is oblivious to the details or the guy is some sort of Svengali.

Anybody know of any online sleuthing sites that are looking at the case? Maybe some relationship/connections map that could explain how such an (allegedly) heinous crime could be covered up?

After seeing that South Carolina lawyer almost get away with shooting his wife and kid, it seems like anything is possible these days.

Just started watching Gavin's vids on this case, so far pretty intriguing. Need to put on a pot of coffee and binge-watch

Husband's actions before he called 911 are astonishing.

I’m not going to watch the videos. What did he do before he called 911?

Called his high powered lawyer uncle AND his cousin who came over to the apartment before the police showed up. Lot's more but the video explains it better than a wall of text. If pressed for time listen at 2x speed and slow down for the parts that interest you. There is a LOT of highly questionable stuff going on, not the least of which is the medical examiner changing an obvious homicide to a suicide. Then getting a nice move from Philly to the Palm Beach Medical examiner's office 2 years later, and he happens to be the m.e. at the Cruz/Parkland case now. But the original case, she "stabbed herself 20 times, including 10 times in the back". Not physically possible. Husband was super-connected and it involves people way way up in Philly and PA. An interesting watch.

You used to know her, so why do you think she's with a soon-to-be 'person of interest'?

I’ve just been listening to The Prosecutors podcast about Ellen. Highly recommend. There is one final session to come, so I don’t know what their conclusion will be. I’m really glad this case is being reopened. The family deserves a decent investigation.

So The Prosecutors released their final installment in the series. They did a great job IMO.
, riveting and persuasive. I go back and forth myself, but lean towards murder.

Yes 100%, the autopsy proved she couldn't have done it herself. Also his uncle was like a big judge there and he called him first. She had bad anxiety before the wedding and wanted to move home. She had old bruises too - he was abusing her

I was watching some of Gavin Fish’s videos and, if what he says is true, I agree with you. He said the family shared crime scene photos with him, including one that showed her make up all stacked up in the bathroom as if she were packing to move out. He thinks the fiancé became enraged and murdered her.

He saw other photos too that helped convince him, but didn’t divulge what they were.

I know this thread is an old thread but I was just googling for updates. This situation is completely crazy but I do not believe the fiancé murdered her. My close friend grew up with Ellen and she had pretty severe mental health issues for a long time. The parents have not been honest about the extent of her issues. It’s hard to believe I know, but I really believe this was a suicide. People Do insane things when not in their right state of mind.
