Read the crime scoop one linked in the second post. It was more info anyway.

Imagine being Sam Goldberg's wife and ... wondering.

Ugh. She sounds a bit odd.

By that, I meant the wife, not the fiancee.

I think she sounds amazingly basic (which I kinda hate as an insult, but it's just so apt) with her NYT wedding announcement, fashion buyer career, Soul Cycle classes, Physique 57 (whatever that is), weekly manicures, somewhat reluctant SAHMing, mommy blog photo feature. It's a Lifetime movie with "American Psycho" vibes, and she's the perfect new-wife character.

I assume Sam Goldberg is a very charming sociopath. He would explain that his ex-fiancee was sadly, very mentally ill. And Philadelphia did officially call it a suicide, so there's that! It's like, "Maybe my new boyfriend murdered his ex-fiancee, but he's Jewish and my biological clock is ticking away!"

A couple weird things from the mommy blog story:

"My husband Sam. He is hands on, and present, a true life saver! He is also a star in the kitchen." (Ellen was murdered in her kitchen)

"Everyday I work on being comfortable and thankful with where I am in my current situation, including right now, staying home with my delicious daughter Lola as well as sitting back row and not wearing just a sports bra in Akin's Soul Cycle class." (Is this a mean-girl burn on the other women who wear just sports bras in Akin's class? IDK)

Yeah, the "delicious daughter" and the Soul Cycle stuff is just a bit much.

Kind of amazing that she didn’t think “very hands on” and “a star in the kitchen” was a little odd. Unless this is a coded warning to her husband that she knows and she’s got a file on him in some safe deposit box to be opened in the event of her death or untimely divorce…

Definitely the fiance.

It has to be the fiancé. Who stabs themselves 20 times? Is this even possible? He could have easily done it before going down to the gym. Many signs of DV here: various bruises in different stages of healing, her wanting to move home, extreme anxiety.

So he is a time bomb, right? Or does he control himself now because his wife's dad pays for their home and who knows what else? She gave up her job so she is dependent, but can possibly run home. Is he only just low-key abusive now? Plenty of wives are accustomed to that via their upbringings.

I was wondering this too. Has she seen the recent articles? Has her father?

Perhaps I’m naive, but I can’t see how a person could stab themselves in the back 10 times. The angle is difficult. Have others committed suicide that way?

Also wondering. Statistically men who abuse/kill are likely to do it again - I guess he could be an anomaly, but I could never put this out if my mind if I were his wife! They have to know about the recent articles, right?

It just really bothers me that he is out free living this seemingly great life. Does not feel like justice.

Don't worry, people like him are never truly happy, and right now he's probably unhappier than usual, looking like the past might catch up to him, an his wife is likely distraught, knowing that her friends have read about it.

Ugh. She sounds a bit odd.

She sounds pretentious AF. And 'my delicious daughter'??

That said, how did that guy get away with murder and what was his motive? Everyone knows the cops always looks at family members first; did he just stab his poor ex-fiance and move on?

Those texts he sent while he was allegedly locked out are so harsh I assume he was abusive. I would never text my wife so rudely even if she had inadvertently locked me out.
