Battlefield v Woodson game was sloppy and Woodson’s energy dropped off in the 2nd half. Battlefield’s goalie was the difference. And whoever said that Oakton’s JMU commit is average must be smoking something. Average doesn’t get recruited to the 5th ranked D1 lax team in the nation (over plenty of private school players). |
Even that is not always the best measure of a talented player. There have been some extraordinarily talented players who do not plan to continue playing in college not because they lack the talent, but because they have educational aspirations that preclude time for athletics. The fact that they are not committed to play in college does not reduce their talent on the high school field. |
This right here. This is how all the adults need to act on here. Positive about all aspects. I couldn’t agree more with this assessment. I felt like Woodson had the energy in the first half, but the momentum shifted in the second. And the Woodson player is probably one of the best defenders in the nation. You know how I know that? Because she was an all-American, as a SOPHOMORE |
How did Woodson JMU commit do vs the Oakton JMU commit and vice versa? Would love to hear about that match up. |
Yorktown hosts Madison tomorrow. Fully expect Yorktown to win handily as our strength of schedule has us prepared to regain cred in the region to an inferior team. |
Trolling, trolling, trolling...keep the doggies trolling! |
Madison graduated an incredibly strong 2022 class. This should be a good match up between Madison & Yorktown as both teams have young players in the mix. |
That entire Concorde division is stacked and if you underestimate any team in it, you might wake up with a black eye, a hangover and a loss.
I thought that centreville team was over hyped so we went out and watched them. They are good, even their JV team. YT destroyed their JV team but the Coaches seemed to just watch and learn. Threw their JV into the meat grinder to watch. . . The Cville (all of them) coaches are smart. That little fat obnoxious centreville JV coach is a total jackass. Loud mouthed o the field . . Hides behind the varsity coach. Almost as obnoxious as as Pal out west. 🤬 |
Great point. When you graduate from college, you should have a (useful) degree in hand, some completed internships in the field of interest, and hopefully many contacts, job prospects, and networks. Both can be had whether you play a sport in college or not. |
Agree the Oakton JMU commit is an excellent player. Definitely one of the best in the VHSL. She’s just needs to avoid getting injured. Does anyone know what club she played for? |
Gettysburg is usually a top 5 D3 GLAX college. So Oakton has at least 4 D1/D3 commits that I’m aware of. I’d call that “several” commits. So not sure it’s valid to say the JMU commit carries the team. She’s an excellent player but lax is a team sport. And considering YT has no college commits that I’m aware of, they clearly had an excellent game the other night keeping it close. |
I’ve heard that Yorktown does have at least one college commit, but don’t know specifics. But YT is a younger team with some athletic talent that is equally capable of having a good game or a mistake prone one. I suspect they will improve as the season progresses and probably win the weak Liberty District but fall short in the regional playoffs. |

Not 2025 idiot. All America senior that was courted by all the top 10 D1s. |
