BF parent here. If they don’t want to be here, then I say go. No one really cares. We will be fine with or without them. Now let’s move on

Congrats to Oakton on a great game. See, some of us are humble.

Was he better than T-Dub? Obviously not. Just that weekend.

Oakton won when it mattered most and that’s the end all to these discussions.

Battlefield best win of season vs who? Coljack? Woodson and their 4 all state players? Woodson wtf. Who did they beat to deserve that? Centreville and all their personal awards better than wtw and they had not one good win all year Some real crazy talk on this forum.

Oakton is weak

Battlefield is probably better in every area of the game except one -- #11 is just too good. She is elite talent and will excel in college.
elite high school skills - certainly not elite height or speed. She will find a niche, but lets see if she hangs 92 in a season.
Have no idea what her 40 time is, but did hear once that her pro agility time is crazy fast. All I know is, I’ve not seen anyone as effective dodging from the top against a double or a backer zone. Her stick skills are probably better than most D1 players. As for height, this is not basketball. The fact that she will be playing for the 6th ranked D1 team in the nation says a lot. The JMU coach has a pretty good track record at finding talent.

Poster should also look at the height of most Mids on the top five college rosters …
my mistake, college coaches actually want to recruit shorter players...

Height is mainly a consideration at center. The most highly recruited player ever, first recruited in 7th grade before the rules change, is 5’4,” and currently a star player at UNC.

Oakton is weak

I will say right now Oakton is lucky. They didn’t face Robinson with air draw specialist because she beat us when we lost to Robinson by one. And I would say Robinson when we played them was a better team than Oakton hands-down
agree. Robo healthy scary good, with college-level skills. Better than oakton if both fully healthy. 5' 9" all around versus 5' 5" any day.
Funny, Oakton was missing its draw specialist, who is also one of its top defenders, for both the semifinal against Robinson and the final against Battlefield, yet still won both games. Many of the Oakton players have played with and against Robinson’s draw specialist for years, she is certainly strong on the draw, but unless you self-draw, the circle players are key to winning possession. She might have made that game closer, but not 10 goals closer.

Agree with pp, oakton is scared to actually play any lacrosse, so they kill as much clock as possible the whole game. Battlefield is the better team as I watched the game, if they got one more possession, that game would have been tied up in the end.
I love how it’s the same couple oakton parents that keep defending that team.
Also agree that the competition in the last year or 2 in public schools dropped off.
Battlefield is the real winner of states
Last time I checked, the state title winner is determined on the field. Oakton won. Stop being a crybaby. Oakton only killed clock when it was a player down and in the last three minutes, just like any smart team. The fact is that Battlefield couldn’t score against Oakton unless it was a “man up” situation, and that is despite one of Oakton’s top defenders being out with an ACL.

I don’t think you were actually there. They stalled with 13 mins left.

Battlefield are the real state champs. Oakton was scared to play an actual game and stalled most of it. Oakton is not the real champs, fake news

Obviously not and if Oakton was able to stall and slow the game down to control the clock than that’s on Battlefield for not pressing and not shutting down the stall.
