Even that is not always the best measure of a talented player. There have been some extraordinarily talented players who do not plan to continue playing in college not because they lack the talent, but because they have educational aspirations that preclude time for athletics. The fact that they are not committed to play in college does not reduce their talent on the high school field.[/quote]

Great point. When you graduate from college, you should have a (useful) degree in hand, some completed internships in the field of interest, and hopefully many contacts, job prospects, and networks. Both can be had whether you play a sport in college or not.[/quote]
