Interesting that some right-wingers are talking up the vaccine now. I figure under-vax'd Democratic-leaning populations (mostly POC) would have a longer tail of getting vaccinated as it seems the vaccine resistant lean Republican but the unvaxed Dems tend to have logistical problems getting vaxed. But heck, I could see this affecting at most 1-2 House races.

Are they really worried swing voters will blame them for a fourth wave? I just figured partisans would blame the other side no matter what and low-engagement voters would blame the Dems.

I think they are worried that their voters are actually going to die and cannot vote for them any longer

Did you read my whole post? i dont see how I could pass the virus as a vaccinated adult to unrelated kids who I run across in a grocery store. I acknowledged that there is a small risk with my nephews or friends kids who I see for longer periods of time.

You need to read up on the Delta variant. Studies show the viral load from Delta variant was 1000x greater than original strain of Covid, as detected in patients’ noses.

Passing someone on the street, unmasked, is enough to pass it on.

Little kids cannot be vaccinated yet, so when YOU are passing them on the street, if you are positive and potentially asymptomatic, YOU are given the innocent kid the virus.

We don't know, yet, the long term impacts of that, but you should think about how your selfishness impact others.

Hey, if they want to die rather than live and vote, it's their freedom to do so. Just hate they will take down some good people and small children with them.

I am sorry - I don’t doubt that the delta variant is more contagious. And that perhaps there are documented cases of delta being transmitted from a vaccinated individual to an unvaccinated individual in a few seconds indoors. But unless you can show me that is a viable form of transmission in general, I am not going to feel bad about being labeled as “selfish” by you. The individual stories are scary, no doubt about it. But the key in public health, as always, is to look at probability and put forward general guidance based on good evidence. Right now, we know enough to say “get vaccinated - it protects you, it protects your children, and it protects unknown children”. The evidence is good enough to say to parents “don’t let unvaccinated adults near your children indoors. Given the emerging stories, don’t let vaccinated people indoors with your children unmasked for long periods of time”. But to say that vaccinated people who don’t wear masks to the grocery store that you choose to take your kids to are selfish because “they don’t think about the babies” is not helping your case. And I wear masks at grocery stores and am vaccinated.
