If this was in response to the last comment, then you didn't do the math. 200 excess deaths per 100,000. With a population of ~341,000,000, this would imply ~680K in excess deaths in Trump counties.

The only thing Trump did was guarantee a market for the drug if it was helpful against the virus. The platform for the drug had been developed years before. He otherwise had NOTHING to do with either the Moderna drug or the Pfizer drug, which was actually developed in German by immigrants.

I say thank you. I know you’re trying to make some point about me being beholden to big pharma but the fact is that I can’t cook up my own covid vaccine, the more covid you catch the more likely it is that you’ll develop long covid and I know enough people who have gotten seriously knocked back by covid in the last year that I don’t want any of that. I get a flu shot and a covid shot and when I age into them I’ll probably get the vaccines recommended for those ages too. It’s like obeying the speed limit and paying my taxes on time.

Your math is off, because you are including the entire population of the US to calculate excess deaths rather than the population of Trump counties.

I'm well aware of this. As I previously said, if you applied this to the entire population (200 excess deaths per 100,000 as a proxy for Trump supporters), it would suggest an amount of that magnitude. What wasn't clear about this?
