Yet another GOP shutdown?

Anonymous
So 197 democrats, joined by 32 republicans, vote to shut down the government, and it’s the republican’s fault?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah!

No.

Right? It'd be perfect. But alas Joe Biden is a rapidly declining geriatric who can no longer be seen in public because of his frailty and dementia. His decision to run for reelection is how we got into this mess to begin with. It's probably best Biden just disappears.

He’s so frail that there is a good chance that he dies of old age a short after leaving office.

I saw the WSJ piece as the Democratic Party insulated themselves from blowback by blaming it all on Bidens staff. “They even kept it from us” is a very convenient way to avoid accountability.

It's pretty clear he won't approve anything with the China restrictions that are in the negotiated CR. That's why he sunk it. He's sucking up to China and looking out for his own business interests.

Then Johnson needs to negotiate with his caucus and Musk to get something done. He has the majority. He has a direct line to Musk. He has everything needed to work it out.

Except a majority that will vote for business as usual. He tried to do one with more new spending, that Democrats would agree to.
This made people mad, so he tried a business as usual bill. Except we are running deficits in the trillions of dollars every year.
So business as usual means more debt and some number of his 'majority' won't vote for that.
They want spending cuts to go along with any debt increase.
So maybe Johnson will kill his speakership and go back to option 1, pass a bill that Democrats want.
He may have already lost his speakership because he tried to do option 1 in the first place.

The GOP needs to be able to pass its own bills. They certainly didn't coordinate either the Bush43 or Trump tax cuts, having pushed those unilaterally. The GOP forced the Dems to pass all of the Biden legislation without their help (some ended up supporting the infrastructure act) - so no, bipartisanship is dead thanks to the GOP, so now, a party in control has to be able pass its bills, unless they want to reach across the aisle.

Johnson, jeffries and Schumer negotiated a deal that Elon killed.

Actually, quite the opposite. The fact that the GOP is rolling over and showing their belly on this *before he's even in office* is a clear indicator that they'll continue to do his bidding. They'll completely change the rules so their slim majority will be able to pass whatever he desires. Strap in, folks, this will be Kaptain Kaos at full-tilt for the next four years.

And they’re rolling over for Musk, who got exactly zero votes.

I am old enough to remember people complaining that Harris was an installed candidate. What does that make Musk?

This what you get when you keep voting for Republicans and Democrats. Complete dysfunction in government and "installed" candidates. You think Americans have learned their lesson? Doubt it.

Critical thinking is not your forte.

It’s makes Musk the exact same thing to Trump that Tony West was to Harris. A highly influential advisor.

A more important question for right now is who is actually President. Is it Jill? Richetti? Sullivan? Zients?

BS, equating an advisor with someone who is public facing and actively threatening elected representatives to do his bidding are not the same thing.

This is funny. Most of these guys wish they could attain more public attention. Ron Klain was tweeting regularly and doing Sunday shows every weekend. His problem was just that he wasn’t so interesting.

This.
Super embarrassing for Johnson. He’s lost the speakership though because Musk-Trump is not pleased.

Ok, I will rephrase. 98% of you that voted in the 2020 election voted for this mess. Reap what you sow and learn your lesson. No more 80 year old presidents.

This has nothing to do with Biden and everything to do with the GOP "governing"
