If they can't verify their info with at least two verified sources, then they don't run the story.
If you see on TMZ that someone has stopped died, but nobody else has run the story yet -- that person has in fact died.
Harvey Levin takes verification so super seriously, that everyone who works there knows not to even consider posting a story of they couldn't independently verify it's veracity.

Ryan & Rachel only dated for 2 years, and in that time they only saw each other every couple of months -- plus, they were super young when they started dating, right after they finished filming The Notebook.
The reason they broke up is because they never saw each other... so what makes you think that marriage had come across either of their minds in their early twenties, and in a relationship where they saw each other probably 6- 8 times over two years? lol

It's pretty much exactly what it's for. It was intended to help restore/resolve child custody disputes where parents are citizens of different countries and one parent takes the kids from one country to another against an agreed upon custody arrangement.

Think about it from her perspective. When Joe and the girls left the UK, she was under the impression they would be spending a few weeks traveling around the US on tour with his band, and then reuniting withe her in NY before returning to their rental home in the UK and continuing to prepare to move into the home they purchased in Dec. Then, in the middle of that trip, Sophie and Joe have a fight, he files for divorce, and suddenly a court in Florida, where neither of them even lives, is telling her that she can't take her kids back to what she considers their familial home. Think about how you would feel if your spouse filed for divorce when you were separated for work reasons and the kids were with him, and then you found out if you wanted to be with your kids, you needed to stay in a hotel in NY because you can't go home.

People who think she's being overly aggressive should ask themselves what they do in the exact same situation. Because personally, I'd do what Sophie is doing -- find a lawyer who is an expert in international divorce involving child custody, and follow his advice. Yes "child abduction" sounds really serious, but the way Joe chose to go about it falls within the definition under The Hague Conventions. If he didn't want it to escalate like this, perhaps he should have considered waiting until he and Sophie were in the same place with equal access to their kids before discussing it with her and figuring out how best to dissolve their marriage while taking care of their kids. He set all this in motion by acting very rashly and filing in such a way as to put Sophie in an impossible situation.

If it was me I would not be leaving my little kids for months at a time with no visits. I travel hours to see my sick mom so she could do the same. So there is that..

There is zero evidence that Sophie has any intention to withhold custodial time and obviously custodial time will include time with Jonas wherever he’s settled or is touring.

Jonas is the only one withholding the children from travel and custodial time with mom as intended and planned by both. Jonas is the only one the court has evidence proving propensity to game and manipulate both mom and system.

Jonas is not withholding cusotodial time at all. The kids are with Sophie since she came to the US and took them on the previously agreed upon date of Sept 20th. The court has no evidence he intends to game or manipulate the system. It is very normal in international cases for one party to file to request the children aren't relocated until there is a temporary custody plan in place. If the kids were in the UK and Joe was saying he was taking them to the US and to give him the passports, and that the USA would be their forever home where they would settle permanently, no one would begrudge Sophie doing the same thing and getting an order to keep them with her until there was a temporary custody order in place.

And PS all of this on both side is legal wrangling - not Joe and Sophie. Both have legal teams trying to ensure the legal rights of their clients.

The kids have never lived in UK . The kids were born in USA and their passports are USA. If they were British she could have gotten another passport but she cannot. This is all a stunt. You sound delusional. The kids have dual citizenships and spent more time in the UK over the last six months than anywhere else.

Also they are dual citizens and likely have both US and UK passports, but when dual citizens travel in and out of the US, they must present a US passport. So if Joe has kids passports, he likely has both US and UK, because he was the one who traveled out of the US with them over the summer.

Regarding Joe being surprised about her filing, I find that sort of ridiculous because he literally wore his wedding ring prominently displayed on a Jumbotron at a concert Sophie was at in early September, and then served her with divorce papers like two days later. It's weird for Joe to claim he's been blindsided by her legal filing when it was filed in response to HIS legal filing. Did he think he just wouldn't respond, or would just politely acquiesce to his unilateral decision to move the kids to the US despite months of planning to settle in the UK? Come on.

I agree with you, but I also think that we are talking about a 4 year old and 14 month old here. I think the place they were most recently physically located as well as where the family owned or had a home rental should come into play - and that's the UK. Seems like they've bounced all around over the past few years. If Joe was intent on raising them in the US then he wouldn't have sold the FL house and made a move to the UK. They are both wealthy. It's not hard to own a home you consider the family home. They didn't have that.

+1, I think part of the drama here is that it looks like Joe decided, somewhat impulsively and suddenly, he was not on board with the move to the UK. But it's not like he had another plan lined up, and he's in the middle of a tour that is going to make it hard for him to figure out where in the US he'd like to settle with his kids and make a home.

So I think he filed for divorce quickly and frankly before he was really ready to, simply to prevent the kids from getting more settled in the UK. He probably worried that if he waited, the 3 yr old would get settled at nursery school, Sophie would move into the house they purchased, etc., and then it might be harder for him to make the argument that the kids should be based in the US or be sharing equal time both places.

It's honestly pretty sad that these two people couldn't discuss this calmly and come up with a plan that would be good for they kids and meet both their needs. I hate to give Gwyneth and Chris credit for anything because they are pretty irritating, but it really seems like Joe and Sophie could have taken notes on that.

Here’s my impression.

They didn’t seem to publicize their kids, even withheld their names from the public for awhile.

Joe Jonas is pap’d carrying the kids cause Joe’s on tour. Public impression: “What a great dad to take so much care of their kids while mom is off working. She’s not a great mom.” I have no idea why most think so much more of a father taking care oh his kids more than a mother taking care of her kids. IMO, he never looked happy carrying the kids.

This whole story line of him taking care of the kids was all him and his PR team to make Sophie look bad. Pictures were a pap stroll and worked, at least in the beginning. Shame on him and his team.
