I think she was embarrassed at all the talk of her partying and this stunt is damage control. Joe Jonas is not flakey and even his statement was calm and reasonable. The kids are American citizens and have never lived abroad so this idea of homeland feels like a stunt. He also said the kids can go back and forth but her attempt to have this adjudicated abroad is lame. He is going to be super careful after what Kelly Rutherford has experienced when her kids got shipped abroad. Hopefully they can work this out. Sad to see this kind of drama.
The kids are also UK citizens and dad decided to divorce mom who lives in the UK. It’s reasonable for her to want a UK court to decide custody considering they own a home there and intended to settle there long term. He’s a monster trying to steal kids don’t their mother
The kids have never lived in UK . The kids were born in USA and their passports are USA. If they were British she could have gotten another passport but she cannot. This is all a stunt. Interesting that she was seen having lunch with him and the kids which backs up his surprise that she suddenly went scorched earth.
You sound delusional. The kids have dual citizenships and spent more time in the UK over the last six months than anywhere else.
+1, I also think the older child has spent considerable time there even before 2023. Also they are dual citizens and likely have both US and UK passports, but when dual citizens travel in and out of the US, they must present a US passport. So if Joe has kids passports, he likely has both US and UK, because he was the one who traveled out of the US with them over the summer. Regarding Joe being surprised about her filing, I find that sort of ridiculous because he literally wore his wedding ring prominently displayed on a Jumbotron at a concert Sophie was at in early September, and then served her with divorce papers like two days later. It's weird for Joe to claim he's been blindsided by her legal filing when it was filed in response to HIS legal filing. Did he think he just wouldn't respond, or would just politely acquiesce to his unilateral decision to move the kids to the US despite months of planning to settle in the UK? Come on.
I agree with you, but I also think that we are talking about a 4 year old and 14 month old here. I think the place they were most recently physically located as well as where the family owned or had a home rental should come into play - and that's the UK. Seems like they've bounced all around over the past few years. If Joe was intent on raising them in the US then he wouldn't have sold the FL house and made a move to the UK. They are both wealthy. It's not hard to own a home you consider the family home. They didn't have that.
