Sheikh Farrokh Sekaleshfar, a British-born scholar who currently lives in Iran and travels the world to spread his hateful message, preached at the Husseini Islamic Center in the Orlando suburb of Sanford last month. The sermon -- delivered behind closed doors -- was titled, “How to deal with the phenomenon of homosexuality” and raised the ire of local LGBT community leaders.
The sermon came just three years after Sekaleshfar had spoken at another engagement in the U.S. where he discussed his twisted idea of “compassion” for gay people. “Death is the sentence. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about this. Death is the sentence,” Sekaleshfar said during a 2013 sermon at the University of Michigan, according to Orlando-based WFTV 9. “We have to have that compassion for people. With homosexuals, it’s the same. Out of compassion, let’s get rid of them now.” |
Homophobia is a disturbing element in more than one religion. Here is an American Christian pastor who called for killing gays at a rally attended by Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee.
In addition, another American Christian pastor played a leading role in orchestrating Uganda's bills to either kill or jail gays for life: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/03/scott-lively-anti-gay-law-uganda |
Cruz and Huckabee are assholes too. |
Last I checked, Cruz and Huckabee didn't shoot up a gay nightclub. |
Iman is a model. A Muslim preacher is called an imam. You're welcome. |
Sadly this is completely off topic and should be reported and removed but the moderator posted it so doubt it will happen Start your own thread |
I think religious leaders calling to kill gays is perfectly on topic. That is unless your goal is to be anti-Muslim rather than anti-killing gays. |
Okay, I guess it must be alright for you if religious leaders call for killing gays as long as at least two people who hear it don't act on it. |
Maybe you should change the topic to Religious leaders who are anti-gay to support your posts |
When was the conference you posted - November 2015? I took the OP to note the close timeframe, not to mention physical closeness, of last month's event and the shooting. Did a shooting also (possibly) result from the event you posted about? |
If it is your contention that sermons calling for killing gays are acceptable unless you can connect them directly to the killing of gays, you are going to need to show evidence that the Orlando shooter -- who was not from Orlando -- heard the Imam and was motivated by his words. |
It is an interesting coincidence. However, you are hell-bent on bending over backwards to excuse any act of terrorism against your fellow Americans. So peace out, and kiss your own ass goodbye when the dirty bomb hits DC. |
I don't condone sermons to kill anyone, no matter what the result. I just can't stand when my kids fight back with the "well, he did it toooooo" whine. To your next point, though, he lived in Ft. Pierce, which is a tiny Florida town. My daughter went to college there, and I know for a fact Orlando is typically where St. Lucie County young adults went for a night out. I wouldn't be surprised if he did attend the sermon, if that was something that interested him. |
I looked up this Iman. He is British but lives in Iran. Question: How does someone like this get a visa to come to US? Maybe Trump is right on this issue. |
Americans do not need Visa to go to UK. Do British need visa to enter US? |
