My guess is her family goes to "rescue" her at the cabin, she and Marc have made up, she pushes her family away. At some point months/years later Marc threatens suicide if Kate doesn't do what he want, she doesn't do it, and he goes through with the suicide. This is why Kate cannot stand up for what she wants/needs/deserves in a relationship.

I think mark rapes her. That would explain her emotional trauma and eating disorder.

This is what I think.

I Agree it is not over. My bet is that he physically harms her, then kills himself and blames her (either in a note or he tells her before he does it).

I wish I didn’t agree, but I do. Assault with or without rape.

Producers say that Marc is gone from the story from now. Let’s hope, and we’ll see.

Didn't Kate specifically link her eating/weight issues to her feeling like she caused her dad's death b/c of her dog? That would have been way back, but I feel like this is the case.

I think the Mark (I want to spell it Marc, sounds more douche-y) storyline was partly a plot to introduce the cabin to us as something that had been around for the family for a long time. Had we seen any explanation of it before this episode? I also think it was symbolically when the family re-forms after Jack's death.

Yes, they’ve shown the family at the cabin before. They spent at least one Thanksgiving there, as well as other occasions.

Lorraine Bracco would have been funny.

At first that's who I thought it was! Hilarious if it was actually Tony's shrink right?

Kevin looked too skinny in last night’s episode!

This was a good episode. I love Madison. I always have. Hilarious, the bit she tried to tell Kate about their hookup! "At one point, I was upside down. . . "

Am I the only one who thought it was a boring episode? I don’t know, it’s not doing it for me anymore. Still love the characters and I really liked Madison in this episode too.

I thought it was boring, too. It seems like one of the episodes where they are laying the foundation for later episodes. For example, we are seeing Kevin's and Rebecca's relationship growing stronger, which throws Randle even further and will likely cause resentment, which sets us up for the showdown between the brothers they previewed at the end.

But I found the whole Kevin/Rebecca outing and all of the flashbacks really boring. Randal's first therapy visit was equally boring. Basically, the only part of the show I thought was interesting was Kate's storyline - brunch with Madison and the creation of the music studio for her and Jack.

Parent of disabled child here... I ugly cried watching little Jack’s progression.

Late/toby’s story is is raw and real it’s refreshing.

The whole issue with going to the conference and the two of them feeling different as parents, especially with a child who is disabled is so real and you hardly ever see that.

Or when you do, you see it in a bad light. This was very well done.

Did anyone else notice that Kate was only in the first flash forward with Jack and none of the others. We still have not seen a future Kate...

Wouldn't showing future Kate that imply she should stay at her set weight?

Huh? Not every single thing about Kate is about her weight.

Honestly, I think this is the normal pace of the show when everyone is not together and there are a lot of flashbacks.

I think the Randall/family rift is definitely going to be based on Rebecca asking Kevin to take the lead in her care. It was so obvious, but I didn't really get it until now. But I think that's it.

And I think Madison is Kevin's fiancee. Her little monologue about enjoying being with Kevin because he's seen her at her worst was telling. And she spoke truth about Toby.

I am really sad that we aren't seeing hardly any Rebecca and Miguel flashbacks. I admit I am an on and off watcher, but I don't remember seeing their story very much. At one point it appeared that they had not been in contact for quite some time until she friended him on facebook.

If they show future Kate at this weight now then she can't be 100lbs lighter during 'now' if the show progresses as far as a year from now. She would be locked in as heavy still with grey hair or whatever. But if the show goes a few more seasons it would create difficulty to write in if kate loses weight.
