Only in court cases.

HR is not a resource for humans in the company. It is a resource to protect the company from the humans in it.

Drugs don’t make you gain weight. Calories in vs calories out is all that matters.

Agree this is a hard lesson for people to learn, particularly if they are used to trusting systems

It's so strange to me that people don't understand this.

I did not attend law school, but I took Latin, so you’re wrong.

+1 Not sure what the heck that poster is on about. I knew the meaning of per se before I went to law school. And there is no good reason to tell people not to use the phrase -- it's a helpful phrase.

Strange, I know how to mend but I can count on my fingers the number of times I had to mend anything. Honestly I just buy a new piece of clothing. Couldn’t dream of it when I was a kid whose grandma taught her how to mend!

This is just not true for those with W2 income!

It’s literally true for everyone. You will get way more entitlements over a lifetime than a person on welfare. If you write off your interest on your house, drive a company car, went to college with on the GI bill, lived in a red line neighborhood…. I could go on for pages. You have more entitlement than someone on welfare.

You’re just making things up now

Oh, there are many more. Better streets, better schools, better parks, better libraries.

Here's another: the 340B drug subsidy program. Providers purchase drugs at heavily discounted prices but get full reimbursement from Medicare or Medicaid. The idea was that with the extra money they could fund additional healthcare resources in low income areas.

Instead many of them take the extra money to build fancier facilities in wealthier areas (with a focus on profit-generating facilities) often while also closing critical programs in the low income areas they serve (like, say, actual emergency rooms).

The secret is to live in subsidized housing built in nice areas.
You get all the advantages but you don’t really pay for them.

I learned how to mend socks in the 70s, I guess just to have the skill. Now we throw them out and get new socks. My DH's sport socks get holes and I can't, no matter how frugal I want to be, imagine mending them. I would never get them smooth enough for comfort in terms of an athletic sock. And I can buy another 10-pack.

But I'm here for the second ice age dystopian future when grandpa Jaxon needs his outer outer socks mended to go tend the clone sheep

THANK YOU! This is a huge pet peeve of mine.

The first amendment guarantees you protection from government restrictions on your speech.

It does not mean that a private entity cannot restrict your speech. So, if DCUM or X or Facebook kicks you off for offensive speech, it’s not a violation of the First Amendment.

If you're nervous, suspicious or apprehensive about something, you are WARY of it, not weary of it. You could also be LEARY, but you're NOT weary.
Being weary of something means you're tired of it.
