Share something that should be general knowledge, but isn't

There were no real dentists prior to that.

Given that was only one school, going to a dentist was not available most of the US until the 20th century.

Why in the world should that be general knowledge?

99% of everything can be effectively cleaned with dish soap, baking soda, vinegar, or a combination of these.

When you are commenting on social media on something you find cute, the expression you want is “Aww!” not “Awe!”

Hey friend...you "were graduated from Harvard" if you went to school "in Boston"

The phrase “could care less” is a regional idiom; it’s not based on the logical definition of the words.

Hmmm but also vinegar wears down plastic.

And baking soda can be abrasive.

I wasn't trying to say that each of those agents is appropriate for all materials or items. You have to exercise common sense here.

Why doesn't it seem to be common sense and common knowledge that in order for legislation to pass, they need sufficient votes, and not just in one chamber, but BOTH chambers?

Seems that key piece of knowledge is completely missing among Republicans right now. They have been unable to elect a Speaker, because they can't get enough support within their own conference to do so. They keep talking about "uniting the conference" yet they need to unite Congress.

They want to shift the blame for shutdowns by saying "but we already passed Budget bills, it's the Senate that won't take them up!" but the problem is that there is not enough support and there are not enough votes in the Senate for their budget bills to pass.

Complete lack of common sense.

Thank you. This is one of my pet peeves.

Per se isn't really a legal term, though. There's a lot of legal latin, but that's not it.

Basic mending. I learned from my mother and then again in middle school home ec but it seems like that wasn’t even universal back in the 90s given the number of college friends who brought me their clothing in desperation when it was too big or ripped.
