Strange, I know how to mend but I can count on my fingers the number of times I had to mend anything. Honestly I just buy a new piece of clothing. Couldn’t dream of it when I was a kid whose grandma taught her how to mend![/quote]

I learned how to mend socks in the 70s, I guess just to have the skill. Now we throw them out and get new socks. My DH's sport socks get holes and I can't, no matter how frugal I want to be, imagine mending them. I would never get them smooth enough for comfort in terms of an athletic sock. And I can buy another 10-pack.

But I'm here for the second ice age dystopian future when grandpa Jaxon needs his outer outer socks mended to go tend the clone sheep[/quote]
