Will Manchin and Sinema crack?

Oh bully - we'll 'lose' 0.015. Now do the inflation forecast of 10%+!

Thanks WVA.

Part of the reason you’ll lose in November is the stream of racist epithets like that. Completely unnecessary and unhelpful. I know it’s socially acceptable to write these types of comments, but it’s not a winning campaign strategy. I’m I should be “checking our privilege” or whatever.

Joe Manchin says he could be on board with paid leave but wants a new payroll tax on workers to access the social benefit

Wow Joe wants to raise taxes on everyone. What a republicans.

God, he is such a shitbag.

So those of us who already had our kids, and didn’t get any paid leave, should pay tax so others can have it? GTFO.

I’m willing to do it even though I’m done having kids. Maybe I’m just a kinder and more generous person than you.

NP. I’m not ‘generous’ enough to pay for other people who can’t afford it to have kids. And then since they can’t afford it, I’ll need to keep paying to raise those kids. Paying for public schools that we don’t use is as far as I’m willing to go towards paying to raise other people’s kids. My responsibility is to my own family. Some of us don’t have trust funds and inheritances coming to us.

I see your point EXCEPT you dont live in isolation. You pay for public schools because its for the public good. If I dont have a car I still have to pay for roads. And I really cant imagine that you are okay with children suffering. I make 60k and have a child. My partner makes 90k. We make more than many and make a LOT less than most of our peers. My child's health and wellbeing are not infringed upon if I need to pay 2k more in taxes a year. Do you know why? Bc he has loving, involved parents.

I wont allow children to suffer just so you can stick it to their parents. How hard up do you have to be to see the world the way you do. Ugh.

No one is 'suffering' because PP and I refuse to be happy about paying more and more for kids we didn't bring into this world and their parents have no plans to provide for despite the free education they too received at the expense of the government.

The progressives wanted free monthly summer stipends for food, free pre-school, free childcare, free college, free year-round monthly stipends for everything else, on top of the 15 years of already free standard education and free breakfast/lunch provided to kids and free healthcare for impoverished children.

At some point its the parents responsibility to provide for their own children.

I'm so glad they nipped this in the bud. I literally saw a SAHM today asking if she was going to get PAID (like on retainer) out of the childcare subsidy like the daycares would if they chose to keep their kid at home. The entitlement was off the charts.

What is your imaginary friend’s name?

A lot of the childcare subsidy money is going to flights to Miami and BBL surgery. If government money is going to elective plastic surgery we are passing out way too much free money for the children. I know three women on assistance who have flown from Maryland to Miami to get the BBL surgery. It is trending in certain circles.

DP, I know a UMC SAHM who brags about her checks constantly. UMC families are the new welfare queens.

ALL of them are now off welfare - rich and poor. So glad.

Maybe if the Dems were smart enough to means test the welfare, poor people could actually continue to receive it.

Amazing that Republicans still believe there is such a thing as welfare for life even though that was ended decades ago.

Manchin is a loss. But Sinema is easily replaced. And Dems could potentially pick up the PA Senate seat and possibly a few more. I think the best revenge against Manchin would be for Dems to get a majority that doesn't include him.

Funny you mentioned that because 18 years of payments from the federal government because you popped out a child is the definition of welfare for life. Except it was going to households with no income up to 400K a year. Ridiculous.

Sigh.

A) Sinema is NOT up for reelection until 2025.

B) There is a vulnerable Senator in Arizona. His name is Mark Kelly and HE is up for reelection 2022.

C) You'll be lucky to keep the House at this rate. Keep ignoring inflation.

Manchin still not backing down. They'll vote and they'll lose. Then they can 'build' a brand-new bill in 2022. Enjoy.

Sinema and Manchin are heros.

I am sure other Dems share their concerns with what totalitarian "progressives" are trying to do, but so far they have chosen to hide behind them.

Some of the BBB flaws:

- Child tax credits to couples earning above $250K and singles earning above $200K

- Child tax credits without work requirements for parents/guardians who aren’t seniors or disabled.

- Repealing the SS# requirement for children whose parents/guardians will receive the child tax credits, which means illegal immigrants could get benefits for their non-citizen children that they brought here.

- Work permits and exemption from deportation for 7-8 million illegal immigrants without enforcing a national mandate of E-Verify first to discourage more illegal immigration.

Liberals have allowed idiots to run the Democratic Party

Fact

The rich are poised to gain more from the SALT cap increase than lower-income people are from other elements of the bill, such as the child tax credit. According to the CRFB, a household in D.C. making $1 million a year would benefit 10 times as much as the SALT cap as a middle-class household would from extending the increased child tax credit for one year,an extra $1,600 for children under 6 and an extra $1,000 for older children.

“We’re debating about whether to give lower- and middle-class families a thousand dollars more a year through the child tax credit, while giving upper-class families $10,000 or more through SALT,” said Marc Goldwein, senior policy director at the CRFB. “That’s counter to everything the Democrats have been saying Build Back Better is about and everything they said about the Trump tax cuts.”

It's quite surreal how Dems have been taken over by a fringe far-left group.

This is why Manchin kept calling for a vote. And it’s probably the reason the democratic establishment wouldn’t allow one. They knew Manchin wouldn’t be the only opposition, but it’s easier to keep vilifying the senator from ‘backward’ West Virginia than admit that their policies are just really bad.

Fair point.

I'd love to see the results of an actual vote on the floor.

At this rate, the question is more like whether Biden and Schumer will crack.

I believe they will. Mid-terms are just some months away, and we all know what just happened in VA and NJ.

We will remember Sinema. Make no mistake, we will remember.
As for Mark Kelly he's a g_dam ASTRONAUT and national hero. And he is NOT in that much trouble in AZ. Good luck topping Kelly.
