Sinema queen

In other words, Sinema doesn’t actually support voting rights, she just wants to be able to say she does without having to actually do it.

I hope Sinema knows that her career as any kind of elected Democratic official is completely over.

Can't deviate from the party line!

Sinema's re-election is in 2024. American voters barely remember what they had for breakfast. Anyone remember the absolute OUTRAGE at Susan Collins for voting to approve Brett Kavanaugh in 2018? Guess who won re-election in 2020...

The funniest part was how democrats from all over the country donated tens of millions to unseat her.

Historic! Guess who didn't crack?

we can now expect the GOP to sweep into 2022 and 2024. I hope people are preparing to live in White Male Christian society.

Thanks WVA.

Good. I'm tired of a Democrat-controlled Congress not doing anything but posting up and passing inflation-rising measures. Maybe with a Dem President and a GOP-controlled or at least a divided Congress, we can take a step back and focus on healing the country from Covid and now - inflation.

JFC I’m sick of Republicans. Including Manchin.

Most Americans are white. And most Americans are Christians, whether religious or merely cultural. So?

I'm struggling to understand the logic in your post. Because the bill is dead, it means the GOP will sweep into power next year? Am I to infer that if the bill had passed, it would have saved the Democrats from electoral defeat? Hasn't occurred to you that the defeat of the bill may have the opposite effect, saving the Democrats from a possible loss of the House, or at least mitigating the depths of the losses. Because why would voters punish the Democrats for not passing the bill by voting for the Republicans?

Then again, I'm sure logic ever existed in the political forum.

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps the left should thank Joe Manchin from preventing the left from suffering an even more severe bloodbath in 2022.

Looks like a lot of theater to me. Schumer sends Manchin up to be the bad boy who wouldn’t pass this oh so special bill. If it hadn’t been Manchin, it would have been someone else. It was never going to pass because it is garbage.

Joe Manchin says he could be on board with paid leave but wants a new payroll tax on workers to access the social benefit

Wow Joe wants to raise taxes on everyone. What a republicans.

God, he is such a shitbag.

So those of us who already had our kids, and didn’t get any paid leave, should pay tax so others can have it? GTFO.

I’m willing to do it even though I’m done having kids. Maybe I’m just a kinder and more generous person than you.

NP. I’m not ‘generous’ enough to pay for other people who can’t afford it to have kids. And then since they can’t afford it, I’ll need to keep paying to raise those kids. Paying for public schools that we don’t use is as far as I’m willing to go towards paying to raise other people’s kids. My responsibility is to my own family. Some of us don’t have trust funds and inheritances coming to us.

I see your point EXCEPT you dont live in isolation. You pay for public schools because its for the public good. If I dont have a car I still have to pay for roads. And I really cant imagine that you are okay with children suffering. I make 60k and have a child. My partner makes 90k. We make more than many and make a LOT less than most of our peers. My child's health and wellbeing are not infringed upon if I need to pay 2k more in taxes a year. Do you know why? Bc he has loving, involved parents.

I wont allow children to suffer just so you can stick it to their parents. How hard up do you have to be to see the world the way you do. Ugh.

No one is 'suffering' because PP and I refuse to be happy about paying more and more for kids we didn't bring into this world and their parents have no plans to provide for despite the free education they too received at the expense of the government.

The progressives wanted free monthly summer stipends for food, free pre-school, free childcare, free college, free year-round monthly stipends for everything else, on top of the 15 years of already free standard education and free breakfast/lunch provided to kids and free healthcare for impoverished children.

At some point its the parents responsibility to provide for their own children.

I'm so glad they nipped this in the bud. I literally saw a SAHM today asking if she was going to get PAID (like on retainer) out of the childcare subsidy like the daycares would if they chose to keep their kid at home. The entitlement was off the charts.

What is your imaginary friend’s name?

A lot of the childcare subsidy money is going to flights to Miami and BBL surgery. If government money is going to elective plastic surgery we are passing out way too much free money for the children. I know three women on assistance who have flown from Maryland to Miami to get the BBL surgery. It is trending in certain circles.

DP, I know a UMC SAHM who brags about her checks constantly. UMC families are the new welfare queens.

Maybe if the Dems were smart enough to means test the welfare, poor people could actually continue to receive it.

Agreed but they weren't - so that's that.
