Meanwhile the US media is actually gloating at having first and primary access to the worlds most popular royal.

Are you a US taxation expert? If not, consider taking your H&W worship over to the thread which is for Meghan and Harry fans ONLY.

Taxation is a serious concern and despite a "bevy" of financial experts, these two are already suspect as they've been reasonably accused of lying about other issues.

In fact, I believe they may try a common ploy which is to filter money through their non-profit - and shows that they developed Archewell for just that purpose. So their self-proclaimed philanthropy will be easily blown to shreds.

Archewell may be nothing more than a money laundering machine.
So
Again, I hope someone from the IRS (or media) will roll their sleeves up on this one.

DP. Actual tax attorney.

The U.S. is a worldwide tax system that taxes its citizens on their income wherever they go. Harry is not a citizen. Not all money is income. The money he received from Charles appears to have been a gift as he didn’t do anything for it. That means the tax due on that money would be the responsibility of paying taxes on that, all things being equal, would be Charles. If you are curious about the gift tax: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/frequently-asked-questions-on-gift-taxes

If they are going to reduce their tax burden they are going to do something much more sophisticated than funneling money through a charitable organization as that is very easy to catch lol.

Could he try the Immigrant Investor? He's got he cash. Does it apply to nonprofits? He could try and "hire" and "create jobs" at Archewell entities. He has no unique marketable skills otherwise and will be under a great deal of scrutiny whatever route he uses. It all bears watching, IMO.

Anonymous wrote:Also where are you guys getting he has a green card?

It was reported a couple of months ago that he wasn’t seeking citizenship or a green card.

He needs at least a work visa to be legally employed in the US.

What kind of work visa is he eligible for? He has no special skills.

Idk can you fly a helicopter? I can’t lol

My husband works with Marines who were in Afghanistan with Harry. They all have positive to glowing things to say about his skills as a pilot and soldier.

Sure Jan.

Harry can easily get a green card through marriage though I don’t know if he can hold a green card under BRF rules. He could also easily get an O-visa which allows for employment. Or there many be some special rules for aristocrats. Princess Madeline of Sweden is also married to a US citizen and now lives in Florida.
Do you really think the Sussexes don’t have a phalanx of immigration and tax attorneys on call?

He could get a green card through marriage or through employment or through creating jobs for Americans. He does not have to give up his titles to have a green card — only if he applies for citizenship.

Really, they’ll be okay.

I wonder what it feels like to be Meghan Markle.

5 years ago she was a struggling D list actress aging in Hollywood, single and hustling for new jobs as her TV series was coming to a close.

Now she is worth 400 mil + on the way to billions. Married to a literal Prince and most eligible man in the world. Living in a lavish mansion amongst the world's biggest names, hobnobbing with royals and state heads, running multiple passion projects and raising aristocratic kids.

Wow life is unfair!

And yet she can’t seem to stop whining. Makes you wonder.

Well according to her, until recently it felt un-survivable!

Her net worth Pre- Harry was like 1 - 3 mil.

Now she has raised 400 mil + in just one year. If this continues she will be on her way to billions very quickly.

TBH I am less interested in her than I am in what happens to Harry here in the U.S. especially when it comes to his residency status, his work visa, his taxes, etc.

You can't have one set of immigration rules for "commoners" and one for "royalty." Same goes with taxes. If you want a high-visibility life especially as a means to earn money, then be prepared for high-visibility scrutiny too.

And when the scrutiny comes, and it will, I predict they will claim victimhood once again and quickly skeedaddle over to the Caymans where they can hide their money like all the other fat cats.

Was there a PP up above who was seriously arguing that the IRS should be reading a thread on DCUM to get advice on how to handle Harry's tax affairs?

Damn.

You'd be surprised who reads these threads. It is DC after all.

Oh my God. You are totally and utterly delusional. WOW. It's obvious to even a casual observer that the haters in this thread are crazy, but this is some next-level insanity.
