How much sushi do you need to feel full?

Anonymous
I guess it's not so much about feeling full immediately, but usually 4 hours after eating sushi I'm so hungry! I went to a nice sushi place for dinner and it was great, I felt full after eating it, but here I am sitting here at midnight starving. What gives?

How much protein did you eat?

2 rolls max.

Isn't it normal to feel hungry after 4 hours without eating? When I eat a regular meal, in about 4 hours (with no snacks), I am hungry again. This is my usual.

To answer your question...2 rolls and I am stuffed.

I need at least 4 or 5 rolls.

My usual order is:

1 (or 2) sweet potato tempura rolls with cream cheese
1 California Roll
1 Salmon Roll
2 (or 3) Salmon hand rolls
1 Shrimps tempura roll. Gotta luv them shrimps.

I only eat 2 rolls, but honestly it doesn't leave me that full. I find it helps if i eat miso soup or a small salad with my sushi.

After four hours you need to go to bed or have a snack.

It's the rice in the sushi that provides most calories and makes people feel stuffed. However, make sure you eat enough protein and vegetables with your meal. Miso contains healthy probiotics, so don't skip it.

1.5 rolls. The rice really fills me up quickly.

Yes it is very common in our obese society, but it's not a good thing. Unless you're an athlete training all the time, it means you're metabolically inflexible. That is - your body runs on sugar primarily and is very inefficient at burning fat or stored body fat.

I usually eat 2 rolls. Typically something plain like cucumber or avocado and something more heavy like shrimp tempura or a dragon roll.

If it is dinner and I've been anticipating a big meal all day, I may also have an app like seaweed salad, miso soup/salad, or veggie tempura.

Though I would say I am satisfied after a sushi meal it doesn't leave me stuffed like some other cuisines can. That is good.

Are you sure you're not confusing individual pieces with whole rolls?

No, I'm not. I'm talking 6 piece rolls on each of those. I need at least 35 individual pieces to fill me up. I'm a big boy.

I usually have a salmon roll, a yellowtail roll, and 2 pieces of unagi nigiri.
